What will you be shooting?

Hollis left me his .44. I need to re-cut the crown, but if I can find the time to do that between now and October I think I'll probably use it.
When you say "off hand" for the bottle cap shoot, do you just mean you're not shooting with any kind of rest? Is the distance 20 or 25 yards?

Yeah, 25 yards, freehand.

Most of the time, nobody gets it on their first crack, so everybody gets a few tries

I won’t be able to make it to the Shindig this year. 🥲 My youngest son just extended his enlistment in the USAF for three years and will be stopping at our place en route from Anchorage to Shreveport, LA. Gotta grab this rare moment of time with him before the “next big adventure”.

Equally cool, my second to the youngest just got orders to Masawa Japan on a three year extension. Epic !!! Having 5 kids makes for a busy life but is very full of blessings.

I know you’ll all have an amazing time at the compound and look forward to attending next year. It is truly one of the best weekend events imaginable, IMO.

Please drool over knives, celebrate each other, cut shit, and spend lots of money in my absence. Do drink Yoko’s beer and eat Nate n Jo’s amazing cookin’. Do NOT eat the gummies !

YOU’VE BEEN WARNED !!!

Best regards,

Michael

Going to miss your presence, Michael, but spending time with your family is definitely important. Take care and enjoy the times. Mike

Last shot... gonna be a nice group...*mental breakdown*...d'oh! I used to do that once in a while with long range rifle. A string of v-bulls, then a mental collapse on the last shot.

As nice as those shoot and see targets are from an instant feedback standpoint, I hate them for the same reason. Can make out what's shaping up to be a nice group at 400 or 500 by the third or fourth shot. Just enough to muff the last one or two.

At that distance, those are all kill shots. The heart and lungs easily cover that area. Well done Richard 😎
