It's the 22nd!

Got my Fac 2nd today, a 5.1 w 3V blade. It is absolutely AWESOME! And I can't find anything wrong with it so bonus. If I were to critique anything constructively, it would be the small rub mark on the micarta, where it enters the sheath. Not that big a deal. This is my first knife from SURVIVE! and I'm so happy I have another on order, a GSO-6. Thank you.

The rub mark is normal for a kydex sheath and will get more wear with cycles in and out of the sheath. It's gonna be a shiny spot and one point.

So, are you all wearing out the F5 key on your computers? When does the new stock hit the shelves?

Is anyone getting a new one that also has a factory second? It would be interesting to see a side by side comparison...

Yes to the F5 key. I am wondering at what time each Monday will the site be updated as well.

What are you going for?

I snuck in on the 5.1 20CV 2nd two weeks ago. Got it, love it, can't find any blemish.

My Fac-2nd 3V 5.1 just arrived today. I was one of the lucky few that grabbed one on the 15th. I think I found the tinyyyyyy little ding and scratch that makes it a 2nd. I can't imagine any other manufacturer not letting this thing past QC. Serious commitment to perfection. And now off to the basement workshop to make it a wood display stand. It will have a place of honor on my shelf when not in use.

Interesting. I'm not complaining by any means, but some of the postings I've seen on here showing photos of what people think are the reason a 3V is a second aren't as bad as what appears to be a mis-cut on the spine of my 20CV first, midway down the handle area. It looks like it was the beginning/end point for the cut-out process, and the two points were slightly mis-aligned. Or something like that. I'll have to take a photo and post it myself. Now mind you, I wouldn't have said anything except that it is worse than what I'm seeing people post for 3V blemishes, although it is something that escaped my notice until just the last couple of days. And even then, I thought nothing of it until I saw a few photos of what people were calling blemishes. And it certainly isn't something I'd send back, by any stretch of the imagination. Just seems like a normal knife to me.

That is a hiccup during machining the blades to size. It was on a lot of the GSO-5.1 blades. It is not something that is on the CPM-3V blades anymore since Guy went around the perimeter of those, due to the ding issue. We passed them through since the blade is still within tolerance and the perimeters are WAY better than when the laser marks where a thing.

I believe that will be less prolific on later models, as everything gets settled in through the production process. The GSO-5.1 run definitely had a learning curve.

Please understand, Ms. Ellie: I am not complaining one bit about the knife I got, in any way, shape, or form. I am exceedingly pleased with it. I was merely making an observation regarding the seconds that had been posted, and the blemishes that had been found on them, in comparison to the one imperfection I had EVENTUALLY noticed on my 20CV. But, for the sake of closing the loop, I am posting a photo, for Riz.

My 20CV has those blemishes too. They are not very obvious unless you examine the knife using different angle under the light carefully. I can feel a very slight depression on it when I run my finger very slowly along the spine. These are not an issue for me as it is not going to be a safe queen.

BTW, mine is not a factory 2nd. It is from the presale.

No worries, I just like making sure you guys have the whole story straight from us so there is no room for random assumptions. You never know who is reading.

Ellie, speaking of machining processes and all that stuff, would you be able to let me know what kind of post screws you guys use to attach the belt clip to the sheath? I just got my 5.1 (love it) I'm making a dangler-type extension for the sheath. I'd love for the fittings to match or be similar and the ones I found at my local home center don't look quite right. Thanks!
