It's the 22nd!

Were any 3V sold today??

There were a few Factory 2nd 3V blades. The regular GSO-5.1 product description (as of 7:45ish this morning): "Unfortunately, the CPM-3V blades are requiring some extra attention so those will not be in stock until they have been finished and sharpened. They should be ready by the 29th of February."

I haven't been keeping up with the updates, Does anyone know when will the pre-sale 5.1 will get shipped?

I thought they would be available for a wider window than they were. I checked about an hour apart, as I am at work today and I thought they were not up yet but it appears they were already gone.

I saw the post and checked up S!K only to find out that the sales wasn't up yet. I went on my way home and thirty minutes later all sold? Goodness!

Will post an update once I get notified. I ordered on the first day of the pre-sale, I believe within an hour or two after the pre-sale was put up. Technically I should be the first few in the pre-sale batch to receive shipping notice and be able to give you guys a heads up, but because I am overseas it might work differently.

Not sure how or why the stars aligned for me. I walked out of a meeting and clicked on the site, placed my order, and that was that. Five minutes later I checked again and the stock was gone!

Maybe it's just my day... last week I put one in the shopping cart and then looked at one other item. By the time I went to check out, there wasn't one available, so I was way bummed.

I don't think I could take another week of wondering if this would really work. I imagine learning that the regular orders have move another week out would be both hopeful and disappointing at the same time.

I agree TR. Some people are going to hang out and keep trying to get in.

Other people who maybe are at work or have otherwise busy lives will just buy a different product.

Hinderer does a similar thing which is why the secondary market can charge a premium. The secondary seller has better access or are more willing to invest the time.

Maybe S!K is trying to create an air of exclusivity?

I'm in at about the same time as Andy, as soon as I saw the presale notice in december, I jumped in. I'll give a shout out, too when mine ships, no confirmation yet.

There's a lot of details in other posts so I won't go into great depth, but Monday sales are their method of avoiding huge (weeks/months) wait times for people who have already ordered/paid. Guy is the only one of the 3 person team who sharpens so they're only putting out what he can finish up

haha I thought I had posted on this as well...but seem to have forgotten to press reply... I think they would love to sell a knife to everyone that wanted one immediately, but they have to grow at the rate they can sustain, and that's what they are doing. The quality of the product is what stokes the demand, and they are doing their best to figure out how to meat it, while also making customers happy. Everyone would love it if they could go from hard working upstart to lords of the knife worlds in a week, but life is rarely that convenient.

Thanks for the insight. I understand the desire behind reducing waiting times, but for some people that method actually increases waiting time or potentially makes the knife unobtainable.

Obvious example. I don't have the availability to camp the website on Monday morning. So if there is no growth in supply but ideally a continuous growth in demand it makes it unlikely that I will obtain a knife directly, thus creating a secondary market for people to buy the knife direct and resell for profit. Like Hinderer. If that is thier goal perfect. If not will they be happy when all thier knives sell in 5 minutes then a week later a bunch show up for $50 more online somewhere?

I prefer a waiting list because I can get on the list when I have time to do so. I also see the advantage of the demand as I can order a knife and if I don't like it, resell it without a loss.

In my mind it makes sense to have a waiting list, and a few that are made public at a specific time as well. For people who would rather not camp a website to have thier demand met while still meeting the demand of people who prefer instant gratification.

This also creates demand for the service of the secondary market.

I'm not complaining at all, just trying to understand the current procedural process that has changed significantly since I last purchased.

I'd be pretty ticked off if Edgeworksknife gets a load of 5.1's and pre-orders and pre-sales have not all shipped yet.

Is he a dealer? (for Survive!)?

They are but in very limited quantities. I just read either on FB or IG that they will be getting a boat load of 5.1 within the next week. So I hope all the Pre-order/sales are shipping this week if that's the case.

that took some digging, via Instagram in response to a customer asking if edgeworks would get these in stock:

surviveknives@jb**** Edgeworks is getting a pretty large shipment soon!

Two thoughts, One i think we all know that "soon" can be pretty open ended...second there is a chance edgeworks put in an order for these with the pre-order as a dealer, in which case (as an eager presale customer myself) I would argue they are entitled to them first. also...this is all just speculation :) so hopefully everything will just work out and everyone can be happy!! :D:eek:
