It's ugly. And I love it.

On the non-ugly front, Matt Gregory came over on the Sunday for lunch, and in addition to his delightful wife and her fantastic potato salad, Matt brought along my chopper, having finished the sheath. And having refinished the handle. And having refinished and re-etched the blade. I think Matt just liked this piece a bit too much and was having trouble letting go.

Man, that's hard. All too true, but hard. Everything I did needed to be done - I'm just glad I got the chance to do it before it left my presence. Thanks for the chance, Rog.
Jill had a blast, too. It's been a long time since we built a dam in a creek and hunted for crayfish. Such simple pleasures, and such fun!

Here's some random shots Jill took, with one of a very tired little lady that had likely seen, heard, touched, tasted and smelled more in two days time than she had in her entire life - it was wonderful to see Emily's joy at making mud-pies and walking in a stream, or feeding hotdog rolls to moochy dogs!

Good times...

Roger, looks like a great time! I think I could overlook the few wrinkles that cutter has, especially after hearing how it preforms. :D That dropped handle is a significant factor, I am sure. Thanks for sharing!

Great pictures and thread, Roger.

And to think my baby girl is 22 now...they grow up soooo fast.

Good for you spending QT with your daughter - she will never forget that weekend.

Just giving you a hard time Matt - it's to your credit that you want to make a piece bearing your name the very best it can be.

Thanks for the extra pics!

And thanks to all for your comments.

Roger

I know it, Rog... it's still worth the abuse. Patton's comment above was the same way - scumbag!:D

I forgot to add my 2 cents on Dan's chopper. There's no doubt the blade is fugly, but it just feels so right!

It was great getting to meet Emily and Rachel, and Dan's brother Eric is just too much fun. I wish I could exhibit just 5% of the positive energy he exudes. Cool guy.

Good times...
