I've been lusting after Emerson knives!

Well, gentlemen, here is a mod to tell you all this -- talk about the topic, not about each other. Keep your language polite whatever you have to say. Insulting each other is not good. We have Whine and Cheese for that.

Much like a Harley. ;)

I can tell you that sometimes comments and observations about Emersons get me to thinking I shouldn't like them as much as I do, but then I'll put my CQC-10 to some use and for some irrational reason I find myself "attached" to it. It isn't a "brand" think or Mr. Emerson himself, or marketing - it is just a knife that begs for work. I really dunno... I have much higher end knives, and some really practical lesser one's too, but for me, there is something about certain EKI's that move me, much like my '03 Softail standard.

Time for pic's, no?

Thanks for talking me into buying a 10.

Freaking love this knife.

Thanks Esav, I am hoping we can get this thread back on track...

Well of course you do! Surely you didn't doubt a fellow buckeye. Hope to see you at RJ's. BTW, I gave that exact same model to someone really important to me for Christmas this past year - I hear the boys are impressed with my daughter's blade.

He's been wanting to get some Buckeye BFC members to his place. You best believe I'm in!

Emerson's have fantastic egos and nice, grippy G10. I really like them because they feel great in the hand. The steel is tough, edge retention is good. Sharpening is a breeze. Satin finish is sexy.

I've used my Roadhouse to make kindling and shaved fuzzy sticks... Edge retention was very good. I've tested tip strength and it's held out great (probably due to geometry).

Did I mention I like the ergos? I cannot imagine slipping or dropping these knives accidentally.

If you're looking for the ultimate in edge retention (and this is your only consideration), look to Spyderco, Microtech or Strider.
