My Adamas really does it for me.
I have tried to carry others since buying it, and its back into my pocket within a week.
I enjoy every single feature about it.

Plus, I live in a country-style-area where no-one looks at me funny for having it.

I saw it at the store and handled it, thinking: "I have to own this."
Came back a couple weeks later, and owned it. I couldnt wait. I even paid retail price, and dont care one bit. Worth every. Single. Cent.

So, maybe you havent found "The one", but which of your knives was was instant gratification? Why do you like it so much?

You can call it the "One" but I like to remind you, at the end of the day it's just a knife. Till death we part doesn't apply here, she won't divorce you and take half your stuff if you decide to cheat. Nor will she nag you for looking at other knives. So it may be the "One" for now, but don't feel bad if you find a new "One" latter down the road.

If you like her you should check out her sister I heard she is a real fixed blade.

I've finally settled on the one for me! Strider sng Lego, tan g10, black oxide micro melt pd#1 steel. Can't be beat.

I found "the one" 10 years ago. We got married, had some kids, but I still like to see whats out there. I mean looking isn't cheating. I can't help it, being a man. If I see an attractive women then...

Oh what, you talking knives?

But isn't the gratification the reason we like knives so much? Theres no way Im the only person on this forum who bought a knife and felt the same way.
Oh, and I dont like fixed blades. :)

You sound like you have some trust issues. Has a knife ever betrayed you? Hahahahaha.

First it was a cheap balisong because i found it and realized how much I liked knives...
then it was a SOG Aegis because it was the first I ever bought...
then it was a skyline because compared to an Aegis i thought it was perfect...
The latest one was a framelock CRKT Ripple, but there were so many that I skipped, and each one was the new "one"
I think I'm going to just sell a bunch of stuff and jump up to the $400 range and see if i have any luck there.

Hahaha! Yeah right, I would be willing to bet you have already started looking at other knives. Its an addiction," just one more" says the addict to himself...
Every knife I have bought was "the one" Until the next one came along.

My lionsteel Sr1a was love at first grope. I've moved on since. Currently it's a strider sng.

Endura4 with blue scales was my first Spyderco and almost a year later is still my go to EDC. The second most gratifying purchase for me has to be the Spyderco Centofante 3, just a slick knife. Call me a slut if you want but there will be others in the future I'm sure... currently fondling a CRKT Ripple I bought a couple of weeks ago. Nice knife, fun to play with and the alien theme is unique.

Now if only I can decide between the Bedlam and the Matriarch 2 lol.... though it's going to be hard to beat the Endura4 imo.

The one for me (over 5 years now and counting) is a Canadian belt knife made by JK Handmade Knives. This knife has all the benefits of the Grohman CBK and a much thicker handle which makes it much better for prolonged use (especially with wood, my hands are starting to show some age after all). Versatile and comfortable... a combination which has yet to be beaten.

Obligatory pic (sorry, I just can't do "pretty")

My current 'one' is the Spyderco Sage 1. You see, my heart's desire often changes from heavy duty folders...to lightweight folders...to fixed blades...and back again. I'm currently on the lightweight kick. (although I have a Superleaf on the way :what: ) It all depends on where I'm at in the cycle. I had an Adamas, loved it, but then went on to lightweight and convinced myself to sell it. I swear I'm my own worst enemy!

Mine's my Cold Steel Recon 1 Tanto. I love how the coating scratches acting as a reminder of fun moments, like my last holiday in France where I carved my son a cool staff for him to mess around with. Looking at that beat up blade brings about all sorts of memories. Love that thing.

Probably, yes, but the next knife I buy will be either Three Sisters Forge, Strider, or CRK. And that definitely won't be soon, because my truck keeps self-destructing. :)
I'm leaning towards Strider.

At the moment for me, the "one" would have to be my 950 Rift a like absolutely everything about it. The blade shape and size is perfect, handle is ergonomic and i love the charcoal and black g10, lock up is rock solid and it open and closes easily one handed.

Im really not sure what is going to top it for me. Possibly a Domino or 0566. Only time and money will tell.

The minute i held a Shirogorov model 95 that was pretty much it!... and haven't found one to replace it yet!

I thought I found my "One" when I got my Sebenza 25. It is really a fantastic knife. I have said it before several times, it is the knife that finally made me realize what I wanted in a knife. I still had others. Several Spydercos and ZTs but I just wanted to carry my sebenza. Then I got rid of all of my other knives so I could get an XM-18. I had one earlier this year and got rid of it. I traded that one for the 25 and some cash that I needed at the time. When I went on the hunt for another hinderer, I decided that the slicer grind was more my style. Now I have my 2:)
