IWB knife carry for bigger guys

Well I usually dress very casually (shorts +T-shirt, jeans+T-shirt etc..) and I plan on carrying my Benchmade socp dagger
Socp dagger is not good for iwb. The tang has lots of hot spots that grind against your sides (jimping). Have you considered pocket fixed blade?

If you really want to be prepared, get a short sword mounted tip up running down your spine. Should be unnoticeable under a good Hawaiian shirt. It's really the ultimate in stabbity self-defense attacks.

With all the knives that are available: wouldn't it be easier (and safer for you); to just pick one that i more easily concealed?
I vote for a folding blade (your choice of deployment options); that you can conceal in a pocket

Unless you have quite a few extra pounds, IWB should work for you.

It takes a bit to find a method and location that works for you, so experiment.

The most dangerous part is probably returning the knife to the sheath if it remains IWB.

You can eliminate this if you use the static cord method. (Which I prefer anyway.)

Guys, I've got a story for you about blade size. This is as good a time as any for it.
My Grampa Denman was the wisest Man that I ever knew. Every smart thing that I know: I heard first from him.
(My Dad wasn't too shabby either; but that's another story...)
When I first was starting to hunt big game: I needed a knife. As a kid: I was drawn to the largest, meanest-looking daggers that were for sale.
Grampa says to me, "Bobby: the only thing that a large blade is good for; is getting driven deeper into your leg when you make a mistake."
He then tells me the story of one of his hunting buddies who wounded a nice buck up in the mountains. He had to track it across some pretty rough terrain, before finally dispatching it. He reaches for his knife, and realizes that he's lost it during the chase! Not to worry: he was carrying his trusty .348 Win that day. He took the empty casing he had, and hammered the mouth of it shut with a rock he found, and used that to field dress the big buck.
It's not the size of the knife: it's how you use what you have.
(Off my soapbox now...)

I ve always carried IWB. But I ve always carried a folder. I ve been able to find folders strong enough and big enough to take care of any intended uses. And folders with IWB carry are totally safe.
Consider the CS Recon1 for large carry IWB.
