Izula bite aka "A lesson on stitches"

ALRIGHT.

I got 6 stitches in 2 fingers...and a numb pinky from my pink Izula.

So far, I win. Anyone dumber than me??

Edit....I missed the 12 stitches above. That wasnt an Izula though... lol

when fat from my finger is hanging out, my photo skills went down. :D

lol, that's sig material right there. while you're recovering, this is a good opportunity to hone your ninja skillz - practice shooting with your other hand.

I've seen the Izula bite first hand also. Our secretary was trying to unsheath a new Tan one from one of my kydex sheaths and before I could instruct her properly, sheath filleted her thumb deep. I forget but it was either 5 or 7 stitches and a little deeper than I prefer to see.

Looks like another arguement for the 6! Those lil' uns will getcha every time

Well better to be cut on a knife than on a can of sardines, a trash can or the roof parts of a concert stage setup. But really pics would have been nice

Haha I'm sorry to hear you cut yourself but I cut myself yesterday and was gonna make a thread title cuts with knives or something. I sliced my finger after wrapping my Becker neck knife with paracord. I wanted to have one to enhance my collection for the upcoming izula collaboration...

Also once cut myself with a cheap folder that wasn't sturdy at all. I haven't bought a cheap knife since.

You folks are making my skin crawl... Im going to have my 12 year old son read this thread.

Do it!

And it's true, the little ones can be the worst bites. Too easy to have your hands in the wrong spot!

I was recently bitten by my Izula on my index finger but I was lucky that it didn't require stitches. I learned a good lesson from that experience, though...

I've always understood the concept of "sharp knives are safer than dull blades" but I had never experienced it first hand until my Izula bit me. The cut happened so quickly and was such a fine cut that I questioned whether I had actually been bit or not, as it wasn't even bleeding. When my finger finally started to bleed, it still wasn't even painful. The cut healed quicker than any other cut and more impressively, wasn't painful despite being on my index finger.

Being careless around any blade will lead to a cut but at least a sharp blade won't hurt and will heal quickly:thumbup:

i feel you your pain adam i was also marked by the all mighty rat once ..

carving pumpkin + loud kiddos + sharp blade = 12 stitches

is that white line the scar... WOW 12 stiches???

I remember my grandma saying, "play with matches, and you'll get burn"... I guess that applies to everything huh??? "play with knives, and eventually you'll get cut"...

We should make a poll on how many people have cut themselves with their esee's... be funny!!!

About learning to stitch yourself up, I cut myself pretty bad recently, and the ER I went to used something called steri-strips to fix me instead of giving me stitches.

They are basically small pieces of tape that you just leave on. Just let them fall off on their own (you can cut the ends as they start to come off) as its basically an artificial scab. I bought a bunch and they are really easy to use if you put benzoin tincture on your cut first. Much easier than stitches and takes up very little room in your PSK.

use the left hand and it feels like a stranger is doing it...

also: ouch.... that's not a nice cut. I was going to post my machete slice of my knuckle. I'm now embarrassed I even took a photo of it.

I did something simliar once with my Graham spear point. Cut a tendon in my finger. It's still crooked.
