Izula folder

Hey, we realize that about 20 percent of the world is seriously f'd up, but we want their business too! :D

I for one am glad to give you my f'd up business. I like the way you guys think. There are few companies that understand customer service. I love doing business with those companies.

20 years ago I bought a $1000.00 pistol. After a few hundred rounds the sear pin broke. I drove 750 miles to their factory to see if I could get a replacement(and to take a little vacation).
When I showed the gentleman at the desk what the problem was he asked me to wait a minute and went to the back. Ten minutes later he was back with my pistol, he cleaned it and replaced any worn parts and the sear pin. He then apologized saying that it was his fault that the pin broke and then wished me a good day. No charge.
That was twenty years ago and I remember it like yesterday. I still do business with them today.

You guys seem like the same kind of people.

My brother and I co-own an electrical contracting business that was started by our father 30 years ago. He taught us all about customer service.

You do what's right, no matter what. You tell the customer the truth, and you fix whatever problem there might be and you create customers for life.

We still have customers that our father picked up 30 years ago.

I haven't had to use RAT's customer service dept, but I KNOW that they will be there for me when or if I need it. They created a customer for life in me.

I'm right handed but the 20 percent or so of the population that is left handed need a dedicated left handed folder, IMO.
Being part of the 20% will I see a lefty version?

Yeah, I thought that was a requirement for being a mod around this joint! :D Blues reads every post. At least that's what he told me. :D

Great news that you guys have decided to run with Tom's design. I remember when I first saw the other thread where he'd posted more pics. Some looked so real I could have sworn there were working prototypes already. Great job Tom (and RAT)! It really is a sweet looking folder design. The original fixed blade's shape lends itself so well to a folder version.

Maybe switch the pocket clip around so that there is no chance of slicing your finger open when you reach into your pocket to get the knife.
Just a suggestion

Ooooh I'm a leftie and would love a leftie version, I have a few right handed framelocks but some are hard to close.

heya luckykitty-ive got me one of those boker subcom folders, used as a money clip. sweet little bugger, tho fortunately i can edc legally...what the hell is going on u cant?

Well, folders can't be carried without legal reason, if they can be opened and locked in the same motion with one hand. And if you unscrew the thumbstud, that doesn't count unless you close the remaining hole permanently.

It is a bit funny - you can carry an RC-3, but you can't carry a boker subcom folder ... (though I guess our local village cop wouldn't say anything about it).

When I have it in my tool pouch though it is not within my immedate reach, so that is not carry in the legal sense ...

We will make sure you don't get one. This is going to be an EDC using folder but not made to baton with or beat to hell and back ;)

What? Don't say such a thing Jeff, you cruel man. After 4 yrs my Gerber has had it, I need something new. And just to think I almost gave in to your request about pictures of my lady.

Anyways do you recommend this as a thrower? Since so many people ask about throwing the Izula I figure I might as well go ahead and ask about the Izula folder. /endjoke

now i know why my kids kept saying " are we there yet". all your gonna hear from now on is, are they here yet!!!!!!

Looks nice. No bells or whistles, just the way I like my knives. Don't have any RATs yet, but I've been eyeing an Izula for a while now, but maybe I will hold off on it and see what this is like in the hand, then decide between the 2. Hope you do an orange handle model!

Lefty steel framelock?

By next Xmas one of these will be contesting for pocket time with a Spyderco Stretch 3 (:D)

I'm a little late to this party, but, put me down for one for sure! I love the looks of this folder! What a perfect RAT combo - the Izula folder clipped to my RFP, Izula FB in LFP and my RC-3 riding shotgun in my EDC bag or on my belt.:D
