Izula folder

The Spyderco PPT is similar to the Street Beat. It may not look like it in a side-by-side, but it functions in a similar fashion.

As I understand it, DPX was slated to produce the Izula folder, but there was some kind of controversy. I think it's covered in the thread linked to above.

I'm heading over to the custom maker's forum....

I want an Izula folder. I also want a pet unicorn that poops $100 bills and gold bullion. I reckon we'll see which one happens first...

I hope an Izula folder makes it to production one day but I'm not holding my breath... anymore. Only took me a few years to clue in to the tease...:o

I like a couple ESEE knives and it looks like a nice little knife. I thought I read something about ESEE was getting the equipment to produce this in August of this year, since they couldn't get an American company to produce this knife. I doubt ESEE will ever produce any type of folder. It seems like ESEE is more into producing gear and ranger panties than producing knives these days.

The panties could actually be effective in a tactical situation if they were black in color.

I think the ESEE ranger panties were orange or yellow. I guess they were made to signal in case you were lost. I think camo panties would effective in a tactical situation.

Wow that is soo cool I saved the picture. This is a knife that deserves some extra lock like the roto lock or ER stop pin.

I have always felt that throwing this knife out there, and then not making any effort to produce it, has hurt ESEE's creds.

They do not have a presence on this forum anymore, but over on their forum, they keep everyone updated as best as possible. The issue they are having as I understand it is that they want to keep everything made in the USA. The places that are capable are booked, and the they would like to not risk quality on another place that may not do a good job. They are having the same problem with the new ESEE bags right now. No one to do them well in the USA- the place they actually gave a PO to failed or is not doing well, so they are seeking another option I believe.

Well, they are no TOPS knives (think they came out with 3 new knives during my post), but they did come out with the new Laser Strike and most recently the Candiru.

I like esee, but I agree somewhat with the above. Reminds me of a saying around here....wish in one hand and ***t (use your imagination, this is a family friendly forum after all) in the other, and see which fills up first.

Honestly, meh. Itll probably be great but so are a bunch of other knives that actually are being made, and something tells me this thing will be over-priced, just a feeling.

For a time there was a talk of Esee 3 being made as a folder rather than Izula... Some time ago...
