Izula II Beats Becker in Lime Slicing!

Damn, you got me there.
When you say science, are you referring to the effect of gravity on said professional bartender's chest area?
Any chance you got her to jump up and down a little while you captured some video? In the interest of science, of course. :p

She blinded me with science.

Yes, I agree, the contest was rigged but just because we offered HD a dollar to trash talk Ethan doesn't mean he's not a good man!

Jeff,

We trash Ethan just about everyday and we do it for free. ;)

After much testing, I have concluded that for urban carry, you can't beat a good folder. Fixed blades are best for outdoor or kitchen use.

I do like having a folder for show...but prefer a small fixed for go...

Rigged. I call rigged. If HD had posted this in the Becker forum, the Necker would have won. I call redo, with a bartender that has more science on her.

Or a bartender with less on her science, but that wouldn't really be appropriate for this forum.

Damn, I'm joining the other side 'cause taking out Ethan is beginning to get expensive!

Of all the things anyone could have said to HD, telling him he looks like Ethan is the lowest.

No the lowest would be saying that HD's cooking is as horrible as Ethan's.

Jeff,

If you joined the other side, we would abuse you too. We have a corporate EOA (Equal Opportunity Abuse) policy so our hands are tied.

Well I could have said anything. Nobody would know the difference. But honestly, Lulu did prefer the the handle on the Izula II. As do I. They both sliced just fine. Just having a little fun. Serious knife reviews get so technical and anal sometimes. Who really gives a darn about the chemical compostion of the alloys except makers? They either work as intended or not. I'm sure the Necker with some scales is a fine slicer. And Lulu has plenty of science. :D

In all seriousness, for people who actually use knives for hours on end in their jobs, handle comfort and blade shape are important. The Izula II is a fine little lime slicer, but it would be a better one in 440 C. Limes are quite acidic.

This should be posted in a 1 answer FAQ in the general subforum.

Smart words.

Actually...the question was more for what he preferred since he mentioned a "good folder"...was curious about his opinion/definition. The last sentence would be silly to include in the FAQ...but that's just me. I find myself wanting an Izzy instead of a folder.

I consider the Bucklite to be a "good" folder. I like the Kershaw Junk Yard Dog, too. Spyderco's Tenacious is a good inexpensive folder. You can get those for about the price of the Izula II, but most good folders will cost at least twice as much as the Izzy.
