Izula Scales

Great work, I love it! Kinda makes my paracord wrap look inadequate. How are the scales fastened?

Excellent Rayban! I have two questions. Do you still carry it as a neck knife? How are the scales fitted, are they recessed into the skeleton or just held in place by the rivet tension?

LOL was about to ask the same question

if the RC ones look anything like that I'll be dead chuffed

I'm working on the sheath now, it will be leather and I'm setting it up to carry as a necker or a horizontal belt carry.
I epoxyed the scales to the skeleton frame. The front pin is actually a Corby bolt.....two parts threaded together, then the heads are grounded off....and the stainless lanyard tube is epoxed in too.
Note: the plastic sheath that came with the knife still works with it. I just prefer leather.

For sale?? I don't know that I'm ready for that. It would be pricey...we all know how much the Izula costs, plus I have about 2 hours of hands-on time in the re-handle part.

Thanks for all ya'llz kind words.

Hey RAT guys, are you listening?
There seems to be some serious demand for the Izula scales!

Scales are nice but personally I like the gutted paracord wrap for the Izula's purpose. It's good to have options though because I can see the Izula as a good belt knife also. Which leads me to what I think would be even more of a hit than scales: A kydex sheath with belt/pocket clip for under $25.

If you just use the MOLLE lock that comes with the kit version you have your belt clip right there. ;) I'm sure a pocket clip of some kind would be easily done, though.

that is really cool. I thought it might be nice to have a fuller scale grip on my izula, but I carry mine horizontal on my belt and that would certainly add thickness. always tradeoffs =)
