I just received my Izula and although I had planned on wrapping the handle with para-cord, I find myself quite enamored with the naked, minimalistic feel of the skeleton handle. Me thinks I'll leave it be, at least for now. Wondering what percentage of Izula owners leave it naked vs wrapped...what say you.

I like mine naked. While the handle is a bit more comfortable wrapped, naked it fits flatter in my pocket, lays nicer under a shirt or jacket when worn around my neck and is easier to clean after use.

I like mine wrapped, but once the scales come out I'll be popping those on it. :)

Wraps look nice and add grip, but I wouldn't want anything but steel on the knife if I was using it to do any messy work. The idea of gunk getting stuck within the wrap isn't appealing.

Prefer wrapped because I have better grip on it. Last thing I want is a knife slipping in my hand

I chose on the fence. I really like the look and feel of the wrap but using it for chores such as field dressing just would not work for me. I guess it depends on your chosen use for the knife. The idea of adding scales sounds very good.

Wrap your tool! :foot:

I actually prefer using gutted cord because it's more comfortable in hand than unwrapped but it's still somewhat thin.

So long as it's not being used for slop jobs I say wrap it. A sweating hand and bare steel don't mix. For me it's just asking for an injury.

I waffled back and forth for quite a while.
I eventually settled on wrapping most of it, and leaving the circle part bare.
That seems to work for me and I haven't felt the need to change it for several months now.

iuke... what are you thinking?!? It's freakin 27 degrees outside! Would YOU go outside naked in this weather to work? would you?? Huh? Ok then, do not expect that poor lil Izula to do it either... :D

Seriously, cold wet NE in the winter, wrap the handle and save your numb fingers from having to be reattached.

Voted for no wrap. With one exception though - if you are in a very cold climate, then it is better to wrap it. Metal to skin contact can be very painful in frosty conditions.

I opted for on the fence, but if I were to wrap an izula, it would be like Joben's - with the circle naked.

I choose to leave mine naked. Ive been using it a lot around the house painting and fixing . Glad I did cause it has paint all over it now. This way just wash it up in some water and stick it back in its sheath.

Wrapped but I like the cord gutted to keep the feel as thin and tight as possible. Gutted cord adds just enough to make a huge difference IMO.

:D I tied her up once, it was easy to hold onto her, but it didn't feel natural, so i took it off, and have left her naked since. I'm a happy man.

But seriously, if the handle geometry were not tended too so well during the design portion of the knife, i doubt i would feel the same way.

My hands aren't big at all but I just can't quite get a favorable grip on a naked Izula. I could definitely make due if that was my only option, but I will always be keeping mine wrapped. The added comfort and bit more filling grip is nice in my opinion. And to be honest, I like trying new wraps and changing the color every so often (about time I changed mine out of it's Halloween orange :p). I carry mine on my belt so the slightly thicker handle doesn't make a difference for my carrying preference thankfully.
