Yea. I took a little of the width out of the blade with these and went more Kephartish. The wider blade design is going to look more like Tony's.

I will continue to do Mikarta and G-10 pins. In fact, there is an ironwood beauty on my bench now with a G-10 sheppards cross.

What are the odds we get to see that Ironwood beauty?:D

Sure. You can see it when its done...

Awesome as always! That is some awesome bocote you put on that BLJ!!!! And this is coming from someone who's typically not a big bocote fan!

Great! Have you used your knife?? Any feedback?

I haven't had much of a chance to play with it yet. I'm between two long weekend vacations and my boss is on a cruise, so it's been long days at work for me. I did get to tie some semblance of a lanyard on it with some moccasin lace (it's just two double wall knots, but it's functional). And I did use it (gratuitously) on a firesteel to fire up the charcoal grill last night. Bringing it camping with my father's old Hugo Koller corkscrew jack and a Wetterlings wildlife axe this weekend. I plan to have some pictures of the trio in use after that.

As a mini review, I guess I should mention that we're talking about one of Andy's Nessmuks I received the other week, complete with one of Andy's handmade hammered leather sheaths. I have to say that there are some amazing photographs of Andy's work on this site, but they don't do his knives justice. Running my thumb over the blade edge, it's nice and sharp, and SMOOTH (hopefully my sharpening skills are up to the challenge of keeping it that way). A nice amount of forge scale was left on the blade, but not enough to be obnoxious. Fits in my hand like a glove - it's hard to put down. The scales are made of desert ironwood - this is my first experience with this wood, and it blows away the black walnut I originally wanted. the grain, depth, and tiger's eye quality of the wood are hypnotizing. And it proudly displays the new "Fiddleback" blade etch!
