Jacknife's post brought back memories... A friend of ours had an MG back in the 70s... It spent most of it's time sitting in the garage.... When she could afford to have the thing fixed from whatever malady it had at the time, it would run for perhaps a few more weeks and then back to the garage...
As well, when I started getting involved with motorcycles... Our local Honda dealer also sold British iron back then, Triumph and BSA. If you went into the showroom, there was a small puddle of oil under each Brit motorcycle.
Whereas under each piece of Japanese iron....Nothing at all.
