Now that they're finished, I have to admit that the Dodo Bird can feel pretty darned good in the hand. . . . as long as you cut your ring finger off!!!!

Jerry, I think this grip feels very good even with a full compliment of fingers. Many knives have too small of handles that get lost in your palm and rotate easily. The "pregnant" lobe helps fill the palm and really indexes the blade so you know exactly what is going on. A friend was over today and I asked him to try it. He also thought it felt great in the hand. We both have average/large hands and this shape would probably be uncomfortable in smallish hands where the ringfinger joint did not extend past the hump.
