January 2023 BOTM Buck 119 in 3V black phenolic

Like it a lot and for $165 didn’t expect a custom but still a little disappointed with very slight toothy edge and the fit and stamped indentation on the handguard. Slight burr on the edge as well.
Just to reiterate, I do like it a lot 😁
Have an older one somewhere I got from my gpa about 30ish years ago. Need to find it 😞

Solder it! Might not stick to the guard though…

I'm hoping to see a botm 117 with the same shape. CJ was emphasizing at shot show how the 117 is a mini 119. I'm sure that with the new release of standard 117s they will have a 117 as botm at some point. I guess I'll be regretting not grabbing one of these if that happens.
New release of 117s? Where? That’s one I’ve missed too many times to do it again.

I'm a "meh" on that straight clip point. I like the classic version.

But then I also learned (by owning and using several) that I don't like 110 drop points and prefer the classic clip point.

And I don't like the straight clip points on the 110/112 slims.

Why? Bucks3v has been great. Sharpens well too. Just curious on your take
I have no experience with 3V, from any maker, so cant comment on it.
No doubt Buck 3V would be good, just would like the straight clip in 420HC, if only from a price perspective.
However, after reading this thread ,I will look into getting one in 3V,if I can, just to try it out.

That's an iconic knife.
There're many great ones out there, and they will always be desirable.

You'll save yourself some money in the long run if you can avoid all the other shiny objects that catch your eye!

LOL... your sage words of advice are long too late for me. I collect vintage Rolex and Omega watches, Japanese and Euro swords, guns, Armored fighting vehicles / tanks and coins and a few vintage cars to boot. I am definately adding Buck fixed knives... primarily the 119 with a few 120's 124's and 117's thrown in for good measure.

Armored fighting vehicles and tanks......?!
The operational costs alone are insane.
And I thought knives and cars were expensive.
I give up on boats years ago.
😁

I'm starting a knives and tanks thread just to see your pics!😎
