Jared Oeser: Wharncliffe Trapper

Congrats to both you and Jared!
Jared's scale treatment breaths some fresh air into these knives and this one is no exception.

Another home run  . Jared received a few emails after his original post here in the forum :) Look forward to his future work and agree, its going to be fun watching him progress. Outstanding job Jared, keep it up :D

A maker can't ask for a better endorsement than that.

I can't agree more. Sorry to clutter your thread Elliott, but coming from a man who has held and owned some of the best knives on the planet it means A LOT to me.

Thank you everyone for the kind words!

You're not cluttering the thread at all, Jared, but I think that ranchmanben was lauding Ken's appreciation of your work, and rightfully so. (Ken had already written me to say so earlier.):thumbup:

Hi Elliot -

That is beautiful! I love the LSCF - it translates very well to a traditional design with a high-tech scale treatment.

I have another knife with LSCF and it too has some of the copper strands that have popped up after the sanding, but not so much as to cause a problem.

Thanks for the pictures and thanks to Jared for making those beauties!

best

I only understood what lightning strike carbon fiber was this past weekend. It must be tricky stuff to work with having those embedded wires in the CF, yet it looks flawless on that knife.

And those swedges...holy cow! Congrats on a beautiful knife Elliott, what a terrific birthday present!

Indeed, Elliott, have a Happy Birthday!!
Not too difficult with such a PHENOMENAL edc waiting in the wings!
Your Friend,
B. Looey;)

Thanks to all for the good words and thanks Charlie (aka "Baba Boy") and Gary for the b'day wishes. This beauty of a knife and a few belts of fine single malt should help me deal a bit better with finally reaching (ahem) adulthood. ;) :p

Elliot, ( happy birthday by the way ) I am ALWAYS impressed with your lovely knives that you show us...thank you so much.... yet another persons place where I would love to be a fly the wall when you have your "oil up " day!
Jared.... THAT !! is a stunning looking knife-beautifully built.... what a talent you have!

That knife is wonderful. Congrats on the birthday and the beautiful knife Blues.
Jared does an amazing job on these knives and he definitely deserves the high praise.

We are really blessed by the custom craftsmanship that we see here on BF.
There are some really talented guys out there.

Jared, keep doing what your doing and do it the way the your comfortable with.
Don't change things that will change you.

Thats all I'm saying.

Elliott, beautiful knife and pics. Jared did a great job on that piece. It really is amazing that's only his third 2 blader. The man's got talent!

Great knife!! Jareds' work just keeps getting better and better with each new project. I've been fortunate to grab three of his folders so far, and will snap up more without hesitation if lucky enough.

Speaking of adulthood Elliott, you don't have to tell us how old you are, but (ahem) what year were you born??
