Jared Oeser: Wharncliffe Trapper

Elliott, that WT has some of the most beautiful lines I've seen on a knife. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Always nice to see another knife by Jared. Jared sure has too much talent for one guy for it to be fair! Whenever I am down in his neck of the woods I try to stop in for a visit!

Jared's fixed blades are every bit as cool and well done as his slip joints. His leather work is also stellar!

Happy Birthday Elliott. Jared, Elliott knows how to pick them, and he picked a peach when he ordered this trapper. I didn't know that your knife could be improved upon, but it was. You've really come a long way in a short time! Thank you both for sharing.

Happy birthday!

Very nice, clean lines on that knife. Precision work is always a joy to see.

I did not want to clutter your thread either, Elliot. I did want to mention, I believe Jared is not only skilled with a grinder, I believe he also has the skill of a very artistic eye. Can't mess with an artist's vision IMHO :)

I look forward to seeing many many more works from Jared.

Kevin

Speaking of adulthood Elliott, you don't have to tell us how old you are, but (ahem) what year were you born??

Yeah! Inquiring minds want to know! ;)

Younger than you two geezers but not with enough margin for comfort. Let's just say it'll mark the start of a new decade for me.

Once again, many thanks to those of you who cared enough to share your thoughts and impressions on Jared's work.

What an incredible gift for your 30th birthday. Congratulations Elliott.

Elliott,
I already sent you my best wishes, 30 years is a great age, I got there a few years ago, and I know you will enjoy your thirties as much as I'm enjoying mine
But then again...that's a wonderful knife you had from Jared. As I already told you, I was impressed by his cleanliness in design, paired with a very balanced way of proposing traditional patterns with a modern touch that doesn't affect the original mood of the knife. Congrats to jared, and to you for owning this knife.

Fausto

For my 30th I got broken legs, you get a custom Wharncliffe trapper. Guess you (and the knife) win! I'm not a fan of trappers usually, but I really like the execution of that one!

Excellent knife Jared!:thumbup: Congrats and happy birthday Elliott!

Rumors of it being my 30th birthday are greatly exaggerated...just sayin'...(A guy can wish though...) :p

What an excellent looking knife.

The more I stare at WTs, the more I think they may be just perfect for me.

I don't get into the traditional sub forum too often, but Blues and Jared, that is a stunning trapper, and with my favorite, a wharncliffe blade!

Hope you enjoy it Elliot!

Jared, you have done such amazing work in your short time grinding blades. Well done buddy!!

Well, Hey. It worked for Jack Benny. He never did turn 40.

Happy Birthday, Elliott.

Happy Birthday Elliott!

I had my 29th birthday this year myself (for the 15th time :D).
Maybe next year I will turn 30.

Thanks fellas for the good wishes on the upcoming birthday. Jared's knife will make a great gift and will immediately go into my pocket once I get it back from my wife who has put it away for now.

Forgot to say "Happy Birthday!". ...btw, are you going out? Around here places usually have drink specials for a 21st birthday. ;)

Safer to do that at home where I can still be served even if I shouldn't get behind the wheel. ;):p Thanks for the thoughts, Jake.
