Just wanted to put this out there:

Long story short, as Esav said my first description of what happened was a "soap opera":

I want to get the word out that Jason Occena should NOT be trusted. He's a grade A slimeball, resorting to intimidation, deceit and dishonesty. He's on a lot of forums, claiming he can sell hard to get items and then ripping off the people who send him money, just google it! Beware of him, if you think you're dealing with this scumbag, do NOT proceed with him. He sold me a Benchmade Infidel that clearly wasn't as described and was borderline defective.

Do not post feedback in the Hall of Shame unless the subject has already been cleared for it by the Administrator.

Moving to FEEDBACK.

I just read this little soap opera. Did you do anything right? I've heard "Don't bring a knife to a gun fight" but bringing a gun to a knife deal? And it sounds like you're the one who suggested completing the deal at his apartment. Why not right back at Starbucks?

I should have moved this to Practical Tactical.

I don't understand why you couldn't check out the knife when you were at his house. Did you think he was going to attack you at any moment? And if you balked on the sale maybe be attacked for that too?

sounds like, in part at least, you created your own exigency.

there certainly may have been a "light" scam going on here, but there was nothing preventing you from completing the deal where you were comfortable and checking the knife once in hand.

you were intimidated before you even went to the apartment.

I told him I'd take the knife but he said he wanted some time to consider because he was "emotionally attached" to the knife, so I told him that I'd be willing to meet him at his apartment later that day to pick the knife up.\

He needed time to consider selling a knife he had for sale and took a special trip to meet you in order to sell it? Man, you have some guts for being willing to go to his pad, esp after he jerked you around over his emotional attachment (insert jerk it smily here). Glad nothing worse came out of the deal, that dude sounds like one shady turd.

live and learn. try not to repeat.

i believe this is the old bait and switch routine. done in sales all the time. next time don't trust sketchy people you may or may not know.

now feel free to kick him in the gonads. then set him on fire!:D;)

I didn't put this up so people would feel pity, I put this up so people know not to do business with this creep. Call me an idiot, fine, I was pretty hard headed and wasn't thinking well, but I don't think I'm to blame in this situation...

I did suggest we meet again at the starbucks to which he refused.

Esav I didn't mean this to be a "soap opera", but I wanted to put every detail out there as best I could remember.

If FD called the police, wouldn't they find out that getting an infidel wouldn't be legal?

Wouldn't FD then get in trouble with the law?

depends on what state he's in. here in PA it's legal to own autos if you are a collector so i don't think calling the cops would be a problem.

I'm in NC, that's a good question. It's a grey area and in most cases NC police just don't give a damn, they'd rather write traffic tickets than bust a dude with automatic weaponry. The few times I've dealt with the local fuzz, they've been really unhelpful.

Perhaps if you showed them a little respect, they might be a little more helpful.

Meh whatever, Raleigh cops might've been willing to do something about it but not Cary. I respect the police, sure, but around here they have a nasty habit of showing up on your front lawn, telling you you can't have a Gadsden Flag hanging or that your grass is too long... yes, the actual police force... you'd think they'd have something better to do honestly...

Anyway, whether or not I respect the police is not the subject of this discussion, I didn't involve them because this is a grey area of the law. I put this up as a buyer beware but it seems like people only want to call me stupid. I've got enough drama in my life already, so I'm going to just walk away and leave this up, no sense in wasting more time here.

dang! this is like w+c plus practac plus feedback all rolled into one. seriously, you should move on. don't throw away your hard earned money so easily next time. sorry you got taken, that's a hard way to learn. don't know about legal stuff, but how much time and effort are you willing to spend anyway. life is to short to waste on sketchy people. be more wise. this guy will mess with the wrong guy and end up hurt, dead or in jail sooner or later.

thanks for the heads up.

Soap opera indeed! Those are fictional too. Bear with me as I'm having to jump from this forum to the other to read your tall tale, but I'm happy to address your accusations.

1. You claim i cited emotional attachment? Hah! As I recall, you DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH $$$ to buy it. I told you to call me later if you did and when you called you agreed to meet me at my home.

2. You had a Sig 220? Didn't you tell me you weren't 21? Perhaps I'll let local LEO know.

3. You claim that my Super-V was on the counter? Wow. There's another outright lie. This was at my apartment, if you'll recall and all my expensive long guns reside in a gun locker in a permanent home. Nice story addition. I do recall showing you pictures of my Super V. It was no where near my home.

4. You insist that i set it up so your back was to me, etc. What a tactical nightmare indeed!!! LMAO. You looked the knife over and you seemed satisfied and left. I'll make this concession... It may very well have NOT been the exact one you looked at. As I told you I had THREE. The Washington State Police officer that bought one and my friend that is NCSHP both seem to be happy with theirs. I'll happily provide their contact info to anyone curious. It was actually the Washington officer that brought this to my attention because he had referred one of his fellow officers to me recently and that officer asked me about this thread. He seems happy with his recent purchase of a Zero Tolerance knife from me. I'm no knife dealer OR collector. I'm an end user. I would never sell you a defective product knowingly, period.

5. Finally your " correspondence ". Yes you emailed me inquiring about the grind of the blade and if it was a " second run ". I contacted the dealer on your behalf and even offered to return it for you. No response but I have both emails. I also recall you saying you'd attempted to " fix " the grind. How do I know that's not how it got messed up in the first place? That would explain why you never took me up on the offer to return it for you, huh? I'm sure I also have email proof of that.

I'm still alive and kicking in NC. If you've still got it, contact me and I'll give you back what you paid me, Period. Your lies and colorfully entertaining story are amusing at best.

Laughably, youve referred to baseless accusations by a certified manic-depressed ex-gf and her new boyfriend. Wow. Some " solid " sources there kiddo. I'll stick with my numerous law enforcement friends whom which Ive given blades, tac lights and nylon in an effort to keep them safe from the bad guys.

AGAIN, this is the first time ive seen the thread and i just joined today. Notify me via message or email if you've still got that Infidel. I'll happily take a look at it and if it's not apparent user-abuse I'll buy it back from you, full price paid.

To the other forum members:

Please accept my apologies for this waste of bandwidth. I would have attended to it with a response sooner had I known about it.

You're replying to a months-old thread, and the member who started it is now banned. Read first, then post.

As I recall FriskyDingo's original post was a long and bizarre story that cast more doubt on his own sanity than on Jason Occena's ethics. Then he edited it to its present form, short on facts, just a summary of opinions (opinions apparently held by a lunatic). Later more (unrelated) bizarre behavior got him banned from this website. He is clearly not a credible witness.
