Jeez it's cold!!!!

I am right down the road from August West, and it was bad here today. I spent from 0600 until 1700 outdoors, and it was pushing the clothing I was wearing. On top I had Capilene, long sleeved shirt, 2nd shirt, Filson wool vest, 300 fleece jacket, NF Gortex parka. I am from NH and until I lived here in NC, I was under the false impression that it did not get cold here - wrong. Now I'm by the woodstove drinking Guinness

Dang, to bad I am leaving soon we'd have to get together, catch some fish or chase some squirrels or something. I'm fixin to flip the top on some cider myself. Chris

Not to rub it in or anything - but I am sitting here in shorts with a fan going, it's plenty warm enough here. Currently around 25 deg C (77 deg Fahrenheit) with an overnight low of 18 deg C (64 deg F). It is nice weather too with some cloud and a pleasant breeze.

Anyway I'll think of you poor shivering guys while I relax in this Summer heat.

3 degrees. slight wind. pre-dawn. snow with crust. "holiday special doe season."

home by 10:30, all walking up-hill, mostly.

I'm gonna die.

freezer meat my ass. I'll just buy pizza from now on. registered the doe, but I hurt too much to skin it, so let the damned thing freeze hide to flesh.

I am a stupid man.

How's that rubbing it in? I hate hot weather - when it gets above 21C (70F), it's too hot for me, so I be thinking of you poor, sweating guys, while I relax here in Canada with a cold beer. :D

Having done this I know it sucks, I now opt to add to the cost of the freezer meat and bring it in to the butcher.

I just looked on line and it had the current temp at -7 but when I took the dogs out the thermometer said -17. Either way it's finally getting cold.

I'm trying, Doc, but I'm running out of time and strength.:grumpy:

However, still not a bad way to go about living, eh? Trying to enjoy every sandwich?

not cold enough here. I'm wearing a t shirt, and chilling my beers in ice buckets while sitting outside.

I'm fed up with these warm temps. I'm fed up with the city. I'm fed up with no snow.

I dream and wish for 20' snow drifts, howling winds, packs of timberwolves eating the ******** Yaletown/downtown yuppies and - 50 temps.

GAAhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Camp Casey, now that's cold! I spent two winters in Korea. I should have been warned when CIF TA-50 issue included a partial Artic Issue. PCS or TDY?

PCS, one year, not so bad looking forward to kimchi and bulgogi. :D Chris

When I got to work it was 9F without wind chill, I'm also a stones throw from the water so its very cold on post tonight.

Here in west central NM, it's been an earlier than usual winter. Down to near zero in early December and it's usually January before our real cold snaps. Now that it is Jan, it's hitting the high 30s during the day and down to 12 or 14 at night. Certainly not arctic or Montana but cold enough for a GHOF like me. Older I get, less I 'enjoy' winter. As for Korea, last time I was there was 1980 in Seoul. We had one of those heavy yellow snow storms off the Gobi desert over in mainland Asia and then it got cold. Three weeks of 35 to 40 below at night and maybe a high of 10 during the day. One of the most miserable winters I can remember. We got leg cramps pussy footing on pure ice atop the snow. I prefer the other half of the year.

:D
I'm sitting here with a fleece blanket over me.
It's 57 degreez.......BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR:p
Yeah. I'm serious !

You mean like up here?:D

Its think its only around -25, with wind chill a little worse but. It was down to -53 a couple weeks ago, I woke up and decided to go to tims. Got in the truck, and thought to my self, what the #$$@ am I doing in northern alberta when its minus -50.......:D

-20° this morning in central Minnesota. It looks so ominous when the door hinges start frosting on the inside of the house. Still, nothing like a few hours north at International Falls right now...-36°.
Went ice fishing yesterday despite it all and the crappies were biting big time. What a good way to warm up in the evening with a plate of fried panfish. :)
