Jeff cracks me up!

Jeff is right people these days do expect to be lied to and screwed over any chance someone gets. Hell my own personal life philosophy reflects this If you expect the worst in life you will never be disappointed only pleasantly surpised. Granted that philosophy applies to everything which is why I strive to always be prepared for whatever situation. But, when applied to people it is why so many of us are always surprised by ESEE and how they do things.

However, I am no longer surprised by the way that Jeff & Mike do things because they have proven themselves to be men of their word. I don't think I will ever be surprised by them unless they start becoming lying assholes who don't honor their word and tell us that we need every single one of their "super steel knives" to survive and that any other substitute will fail us and result in the end of the world.

Thanks for saving me from having to say it! :D

Me to. I'm more excited than ever to see what Rowen can do in regards to folders. Rowen seems more in line with the "absolutely no bullshit" stance ESEE has than anyone else out there I know of.

wow there is alot of talk about the junglas vs the lite machete. I am goint to get both becuase i feel they both are great but play different roles.

Egh save your money on the lite machete and just get a Condor machete they are the same thing with the exception on the handle.

funny you said that my friend i was just saying the same thing too myself. but thanks for the advice =)

I had a chance to handle a light machete at the September ESEE campout - and am glad I had not ordered one yet. It didn't feel right to me -- too whippy.
that said, I do like the condor parang & golok a lot. (their KLO is really nice, too!)

Esee Knives suck.....

The only reason I have them is so I can feel cool and fit in

Again, this industry runs on bullshit .......

 Man! It has taken me a good ten years to come to about the same conclusion. I have quite a few "bullshit" knives in my cases that I can't give away; but, I bought them because of the BS reviews or forum chatter.

I have learned one thing about quality, purpose driven knives - they will sell, irregardless of the BS surrounding them - good or bad. They may sell slow, but they will sell. And, finally, quality ain't cheap.

A buyer who "knows" knives, will take quality over BS - Every time!

Wow. Why do people get appreciative of honesty? Doing right should not be rewarded since doing right is simply the right thing to do in life. Not that I don't appreciate the comments but this world is really screwed up when someone feels they need to thank someone for being honest. I simply expect and demand honesty in my dealings in life. If someone is dishonest I simply don't have anything to do with them. It's almost like all we expect nowadays is dishonesty. I simply choose to live by a man's word and handshake until he screws over me.

I know this thread has progress since this statement, but I wanted to add my two cents.

You are exactly right...We have progressed a long way as a society to be dumbfounded at a business owner being honest. It's the truth and since you cater to the LE/Military crowd we understand this concept. As a rookie cop my FTO explained that around year 7, I would begin to lose faith in people. Why? Because I would be lied to everyday buy thugs, criminals and "Normal People" Everyone lied about their speed, their traffic violations. It was rare to see a person be honest about what they were doing illegally. I still have faith in the goodness of man, but I've been lied to almost everyday since the year 2000.

That said, It's refreshing to see some honesty! Sorry for getting all philosophical.

Another man that speaks the truth. I agree.

I have the eco-lite and the ESEE machete. And I love them both sucks trying to decide which to use :)

You know, i buy ESEE knives because i like em and they fit my hands....i do not just buy them because of this forum, the awesome staff at ESEE knives, i generally like the product ESEE makes..ugly, no bullsh*t knives and gear....just like the rest of the gear i own..

I have never gotten a ticket for speeding. Every time I've been stopped the cop always asked me how fast I thought I was going. I always told the truth and ended that with the following statement "probably faster than that actually" When he asked why I was speeding I simply said "I have no excuse" because I didn't. Got a warning every time.

Jeff, I completely agree with you on the BS and PC crap. Even here in little ol Iowa its getting bad. I work for a large corporation here and even though its a great company, you have to play by those crap rules. I have gotten in trouble for telling the truth to someone or calling their BS. People dont like the truth because it might make them feel bad. And God forbid we should make someone feel bad or make them accept the fact that they screwed up :jerkit: Unfortunately I have gotten to the point where I just nod and keep my mouth shut so I dont have to worry about my job. Until more jobs become available, I will continue to keep my mouth shut at work, but thats not gonna stop me from telling people outside of work. :D

The only thing you can really do about this type of thing is to teach your children or nieces and nephews that its more important to tell the truth, and if you screwed up, then accept the consequences. Hopefully someday people will wise up, but I doubt it.

Thanks for everything you do.

Shaun

I'm nolt hear so much for the knives. Shoot, I have 70+ so don't Need a new one. I'm here for the skills and laughs. And there have been plenty in this thread so far.

The simple fix is to not buy any more of our knives and walk away. We're not asking for new customers..

Hey Jeff, is this some sort of reverse psychology you are pulling on us?
Honestly, this kind of brutal honesty Jeff is displaying comes also from the confidence build and backed up by an awesome product. No need for smoke and mirrors.
I appreciate not only your honesty Jeff, but a breath of fresh air in attitude and a tool that won't let down.

Unfortunately BS'ing and deceiving has become such a common practice in our 21st century society. Truth seems to be a virtue of the past. Call it evolution?

It's a sad world, but it's true that people like you (and most of us here) are not the norm anymore. like you, I was raised to belive in a man's word and a handshake was better than a "contract". Manners are another thing that has gone away. I came from a small town were you knew everyone of your neighbors and you greeted everyone, "hello, good morning" etc. was said to everyone. I still live in a small town, but most of my neighbors are young enough to be my children and are self centered and rude. Back to the point, you Sir, are a different kind of "owner" and we like that about you (and Mike).

Well said Jeff!

What a sad state of affairs we seem to be in now-a-days.
