Jensen Elite Blades: New to me. What do you all think?

Sorry Trevor.......I still owe you the picture of the knives. I did add what is on it's way to me though in the above post. Traditional all the way as far as grinds and bevels.

Unless I'm much mistaken I see some pretty blatant Strider knock offs . It's a bit sad seeing a small enterprise doing that to another .

Then i'm mistaken too...

Let's not turn this into a flame thread. Peter knows of this thread obviously, because he has posted here earlier. He also sent me some pictures of someone who makes something "similar" to his FLORO fighting knife. A knife he designed specifically for Raymond Floro and the Floro Fighting System. I think you'd be surprised as to who it is....................

Absolutely not, no flames here.

The old story of "i know something that you don't know and no, i won't tell" is really, really old, boring and very pointless.

Spill the beans or shut up from the beginning!
Not meant to be insulting to you or anyone else, just trying to be straight forward.

And i don't in any way see how just because someone might have ripped you off, then it is ok to do the same?

I personally get tired of the whole 'who ripped who off' thing. Unless it is a virtual exact copy (CS's copy of Mr. Tighe's knife), I don't see a big deal, especially with smaller makers. Think about it: you see a very cool knife design that another maker produces, but think you could add some improvements. So, why not? This has been going on for hundreds of years. Good examples: The Bowie, The Drop Point Hunter, The American Tanto, The Double-edged Fighter, any sword style. All of these designs had to have a 'first', and have been tweaked and altered by various makers over the years. Unless it is a blatant rip-off, I would view it as a compliment that my design inspired another. Just my opinion.

And that is just BS...

Getting inspiration is one thing, straight up copies is another thing.

:barf:

Thank you J.Davey. I agree with you. Most of the time I try and stay out of these types of discussions because they do not seem to go anywhere. Here I was trying to help out Trevor by posting some pictures of the blades I have and low and behold the "rip off" thing rears it's ugly head.........

Trevor if you are still paying attention I will get those pics up later tonight.

Sorry to mess up your intentions, but do you honestly think that the word "rip-off" is waay off-line here??
(regarding certain Strider and JEB knives)

...........I hate it when I don't read the posts correctly   ...............And I personally think it is. Yes there is something similar.................but I am not going to get sucked into this. I have to much respect for JEB and Strider to degrade anything that either has accomplished.

Uhm, well.. happens to all of us :)

I agree to disagree with you, no hard feelings from my part and no flames between you and me.

I finally got the pictures taken of the knives! 1 Combat Elite Variant, 1 High Command scaled and 1 High Command cord wrap.

Let me know if you need anything else

Thanks for the pics Cerb.

They show what I was thinking; one flat side, one ground side.
Do you by any chance know if the tac-dragon is like this too, or whether it's nicely ground on both sides?

Thanks again,
Trev.

I've emailed Peter a couple of times now, but still no response...

Anyone know if they're on holiday or something?

Trevor,

I have the proto-type of the TAC Dragon, it is ground on both sides and is one of my favourites. The deep belly and overall design REALLY works well as an all round field knife. Pic below.

I do know that Peter & Belinda are getting married very soon so maybe planning is getting in the way (?????). I will send him an email regarding your enquiry. Their dialup connection could be better too I believe.

Heres the teaser...
