Jerry doesn't like it... I LOVE it!!! SAR5

So is there any chance that some of you fortunate HOGS will start dumping, errrr, selling on the secondary market, your surplus of SAR 5's?

Maybe, but not less than a $1,000 apiece, I'm sure! Hottest knife around.

holeymoley, that's a great comparison pic. I just took one myself.

Oh fudge. What a great comparison!

I can't believe it's a ABA without the choil area. (And a smidge bigger.)

I've looked a few times at my ABA and wondered, "Dangit, why can't the choil be a whole lot smaller so the blade is closer to my fingers."

I'm off to go find an Amy-0 packij at home.

PS - Green punkin is my fav too. It's so ugly it's cute.

I decided against the full house in the hopes that Bravado could score one... ;)

Naw... I just don't care for tan micarta... looks orange-ish to me. So I passed on that one.

The grips feel GREAT in my hand... and I have a medium sized hand. They are hefty, but I wouldn't say heavy. The micarta balances a bit better in the hand for me. The balance point seems to be under the first handle tube... the G10 is slightly rear heavy (submit ASH comment here)... balance point about .25 to .33 farther back.

The strange thing is, the one I was most skeptical about was the pumpkin/grn... and it blew me away when I opened the package... it is OUTSTANDING!

I'm gonna spend so much time with this blade, my girlfriend is gonna get jealous! ;)

You can't really go by Guyons pics to compare anything but length. It's a Great comparison for that.

Great pics and they look alot alike in side shots, but Guyon will tell you they are way differant knives.

A spine shot of the LE and SAR5 would show you the main differance.
I don't have a SAR....Guyon, can you swing a spine shot?

Love the looks of the SAR5, just don't want anyone thinking it is remotely close to an ABA. Only in length.

Thanks for the report...it sounds like a great knife!

Your right the OD/pumkin looks sweet. I've never liked pumkin or g-10, but that combo just looks cool:cool:

Now this is HOT!! Very HOT!!

(even if it was done with a magic marker:D;))

Geez, this guy stays up late.

Does anyone remember who to contact about getting some kydex for this SAR? I think I saw that a few people had already made sheaths, but I can't find those posts.
