Jetbeam Raptor RRT-0 XML

Nice light. Does Jet-Beam offer a crenulated bezel for this light?

sure do ;):

Thanks, I may have to pick this one up. How low does your light get and how is your battery life?

the s2, r5 and xm-l versions of the rrt-0 have infinite ramping. the lowest is about 2-3lumens :)
battery life life is dependent on what lumen setting you have it at and if youre using AA, 14500, cr123 or 16340. on its highest mode you would get about 30-45min of continuous use but it gets rather hot in minutes. ive ran it for several days of regular use on low-medium settings without having to change batteries.

Thanks again, I just wish the low was even lower, like the moonlight mode on my Quark. I'm still probably gonna have to pick one up.

I believe it is lower than 2-3 lumens. On a standard CR123, its around .05 lumens. Even with the IMR cells I use, on the lowest setting, the led doesn't put out enough light to even illuminate the entire reflector. I highly recommend picking one up...it's been a great light so far.

Having been spoiled with the Sunwayman's V10R variable output, I haven't felt an urge for a new light until now. Thanks for the pics, I think I'll be picking one up soon!

You won't be disappointed...just be sure to pick up some RCR123's with it if you don't have any already.

i have both the sunwayman v10r r5 and rrt-0 xm-l (which is also variable/infinite ramping btw ibute21) in front of me right now on the lowest modes and the v10r is lower. i would say its at least 2lumens and the v10r being closer to .5-1lumen. are we really going to judge .5 lumens against 2lumens? its sufficiently low enough imo... what did you plan on doing? lol :D

heres a pic w/ my camera phone, rrt-0 on the left and v10r on the right both with aw 14500 (exposure setting on my phone: -1.5) ;):

Thanks for the clarification jaiofspam. My RRT isnt that bright on its lowest setting though. Could running IMR's vs 14500 cells be the cause of that?

possibly, i dont have any non protected cells to test with so it may be plausible... i dont see why it would though to be honest

with cr123 primaries the rrt-0 is about 1.5+-lumens and the v10r is definitely .5+lumens

even lower with regular ol alkaline AA's, i believe this is where you get the .5lumen rating with the rrt-0.... and probably .25lumen super moonlight (maybe starlight lol) rating with the v10r

hope that helps some :)

Jai, which of the two lights do you like better and why? I've been planning to get a single 123a infinitely variable light, and those two seem to be the popular options. I like the extra features of the RRT-0, but I've heard the V10R is higher quality in some respects.

i think theyre about the only options for single cr123, clicky switched & ramping ringed lights. between the two i would have to say i favor the jetbeam over the sunwayman. the rrt-0 has a lock out mode, strobe & hidden sos. i also like the crenelated strike bezel option and overall look and feel of the rrt-0 better. the sunwayman is extremely well built. the rotating ramping ring rotates smoother and is recessed flat against the body resisting accidental adjustment/rotation in pocket. the switch is of higher quality compared to the sorta mushy rrt-0 switch. its also about half an inch shorter overall compared to the rrt-0 (minus strike bezel) and does not have any flashing modes which some may favor.

Thanks for the pics Jai. I took a couple shot of mine since it seems different. Just so you know, I'm not arguing the difference between .5 and 2 lumens lol :D. I just think it's interesting/weird that there seems to be a discrepancy between two of the same light. It's running on a fully charged AW 16430 IMR cell in the pictures.

I think that Surefire and Nitecore have models like that, but the Nitecore has gotten some bad reviews and the Surefire costs maybe twice as much as these. Thanks for the input, I do really like the fixed clip option on the Jetbeam. That's also the first picture I've seen of the V10R aluminum with the titanium AA extender. The two finishes don't clash as much as I thought they would, but then again if I want the titanium clip and AA extender the RRT-0 with those options would be cheaper than the V10R with the same accessories.

yes nitecore and several other companies have lights that ramp.... but dont have a ring that controls the ramping ;) (side note: nitecore and jetbeam are sister companies under sysmax)
my d11.2 is a great light minus the parasitic drain and convoluted UI. the d11.2 & ex11.2 are imo more of a novelty light... still cool for edc though haha

Do you think it's better to get a smooth or orange peel reflector? How is it's throw compared to an XP-G R5 light?

Question regarding the RRT-0 and the RRT-01. What are the main difference(s) between the two? I was wondering because I want one of those bezels and want to make sure it will match up if I get a RRT-01. And a certain flashlight store in ATL has the RRT-0 S2 version for super cheap, were there any problems with the S2 variants?
