Apologies for spamming this thread lately but I took a lot of time off and have been making good progress in the shop! This one is for a friend of mine. It's some vintage (80s perhaps?) Westinghouse linen micarta that he requested I leave as much of the red as possible. It's hard as a rock and was really fun to work with.
Thanks man! I'm a nobody in this world of modding. All credit goes to the guys I followed and try to imitate! This is just a really fun (and expensive) hobby that I get a lot of satisfaction out of.
Forgot to post this one last night. Another custom order. Had to do some horse trading with Bret Dowell to score some of this old Westy. This stuff is no joke! Really hard to work with... Much respect to the custom makers who pull it off regularly.
Both of those are Westinghouse Micarta. 1 is some natural linen from roughly the 80s. The other is ivory paper commonly referred to as "Westy". Both should mellow with age and use.
