There are many theories about the brass back Bowies. Back in the early 1950's some "replicas" showed up. Harold L Peterson felt some were real and displayed one in some of his books. But there is more to the story!

This is a little research project I have been working on for years, it is about ready for publication, I will let you know when it is finished.

There are a lot of replicas, but just maybe some authentic ones may exist. I will cauton that buyer beware.
