JK Fall Gathering

Sorry, I won't be able to then. Y'all have fun, and I'll look forward to seeing photos.
 
I would absolutely love to go one day. I live in on the west coast :( One day fellas, I'll bring the Wild Turkey.
 
I just now cleaned the crap out of the cast iron pans from our last Gathering breakfast. :)

What do you expect to cook? Perhaps I can add something to this gathering.

I'd be ashamed to admit that I let good iron skillets go that long without cleaning them out! I hope you gave them a good seasoning after you cleaned them!

You know the easiest way I have found to season a good iron skillet? I follow all you seasoning directions but, I put them in my gas grill outside! Once they have been in there for the set amount of time, I turn the grill off, and just let them cool off there naturally, until they are stone cold! I don't have to worry about them until the next spring or fall season, when it is still cool! I don't have to worry about heating up the house in the summer, or dealing with the smoke it puts in the house when you do them in the oven that way!

Hope you guys all have as much fun as you usually do in Nov.! We'll be watching for the photos!

We usually have some sort of sausage for lunch, Andy brings huge steaks for dinner, and Jeff makes a tasty omelet for breakfast. I`ll have my trusty Mountain Mix along.

Hey Tom,

The pans cleaned up nicely and will be properly seasoned tomorrow. Great idea using the outdoor grille, that process can get smokey!

Karen is working on a mix specially for eggs. Perhaps she will have something ready in time. If she does I will make sure you get some to try on the omelets.
