JK Handmade Knife of the Week

It looks like oak to me. John did a lot of oak early on, and he really does a nice torched oak.

I may as well add the JK Handmade Knife of the Week to this post - I asked Maggie to reach her hand down into the darkness of the JK Bag of Knives and she pulled out the Mykel-modded mykel m mykel m - modified Bushcrafter.

I won this knife in a contest that Mykel had way back when, and it is one that Mykel got from John and then modified with a scale finish that consists of micarta, brass liners, and a final later of micarta. It is hefty and very comfortable to grip. The knife also includes a nice, comfortable to use sheath with a very nicely made fire-starter stick.

Brass is Alot cooler than people give it credit for!!!
 
Well I reached into one of the end compartments of the big bag of JKs (where I keep the smaller blades) and pulled out the following beauty, the JK Personal Utility (design by C cvc ) - this little guy is a really nice one and I think this copy sports ironwood scales.

Not sure why the forums are not seeing the pics, it has happened across different threads. All I see are the red Xs.
 
wanted to show off a small hunter from JK that just fits the hand really nicely. Also, my Hurely Creek in 3/16 in 01, and my 3/32 HC lite in s30V (?) that I had someone put some wrap on the handle to give it some girth.

Flicking post office lost mine s few years back. I was pretty pissed during my few hours of diwn time a week. Long story short the guy who assumed responsibility gave zero shits about it. So John and his partner at the time saw I got screwed and gave me a prototype they were in collaboration on. So I have the number 0 sick nasty jk. I even got to name it

Hey, you were the one behind the sick nasty, I have one of John’s O1s that Chad sold me,, smaller blade with a lot of curves but very capable. Hey shoot me a message with your email, I’ve got a deal for you.

Cool knives, guys! Not many framelocks out there either! I will remember in the future that the big bag of JKs is notthe only place where they lurk in the collection!

This week we go back to a very nice design by cbwoods67 cbwoods67 Cooper Woods (haven't seen him around lately) - the design is his Crooked Creek. I'll post a couple of recent pictures and then a link to a review I posted several years back -

Awesome knife, and just as good review.
