JK Handmade Knife of the Week

Well it finally happened - I pulled out one of the XD series knives that John helped me design. This is the XD / XM (Extreme Duty, Extra Medium) knife.
I had asked for rugged knives and I wanted John to try hollow rivets for the scale fasteners. He didn't disappoint! I also think the grinds on this blade are very nice looking, and the knife is very useful as well.
John has the larger brother of this design in his signature, the XD/XT -

I stuck my hand into the small-knife end of the big bag of JK Knives - and pulled out an interesting piece of JK history.
This week I will be using the first knife that I believe John ever put out in stainless steel - this one in 154CM (indicated by one dot on the stamp - I hope JK Knives JK Knives will post some comments on this) -
I was lucky to get this knife at a gathering with friends at the JK Industries complex in Mokena Illinois.

I also will include a picture of the two XD series knives, but the XD-XL went back into the bag for a future week of carry and use.

I will add that the XD/XM holds up as a very useful knife, rugged and I really like the aesthetic of the knife; John nailed the grinds on the knife, along with the rounded spine.

I hope you all are doing well this week. As I type this Maggie is making some sourdough bread and we are getting ready to take our daily walk. It is sunny and 71 degrees here today. I will have to mow my wild chives this week I am sure....

Cool knives, guys! Not many framelocks out there either! I will remember in the future that the big bag of JKs is notthe only place where they lurk in the collection!

This week we go back to a very nice design by @cbwoods67 Cooper Woods (haven't seen him around lately) - the design is his Crooked Creek. I'll post a couple of recent pictures and then a link to a review I posted several years back -

I still enjoy using this knife as it is thin and very handy.

That's fighting knife for sure

This week I will be using the knife that John called the Small Simple Scandi. This was his prototype and has some of the nicest torched oak you will find.

Any idea on when this came out of John’s shop? Thanks

This week I pulled out the Atta Boy.
This knife was made to my specification, and please note that I drilled the holes in the handle so don't blame Mr. K for the amateurish execution.
The Atta is the most common species of ant - so I chose that name for the knife.

I am a little late this week - we had to do some traveling unexpectedly over the weekend.
This week's knife is the awesome Knatchet from a design by member pitdog, who I believe is sadly no longer with us.
Pitdog used to post pictures of he and his two dogs hiking trails in the pacific northwest.
The beautiful sheath is by D darkmatter35 -
