JK Handmade Knives Knife Giveaway Contest

Hey Lazerboy, I woulda never figured on seeing 2 brittany's in the same thread. The guy who's place we were hunting with dad's dog had never seen one before, and by the end of the day he was a believer. Good looking dog.

One of my favorite hunting pics was from a couple years ago... It was a cold morning and most of the guys decided to stay in camp, except for my buddy and I. We headed out to our spots and froze our butts off. An hour and some after getting there, I had a doe and a fawn run by me, flag in the air. I got ready thinking a buck must have been chasing the doe. I was surprised to find not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, but 5 coyotes on the chase. Nobody touches my does! ;) I got 3 of em (with a bolt action...). The other 2 scattered.

This was the most humbling experience of my life...

Before any of you give me crap for hunting down a helpless little cow, these cows have been feral for over 200 years old and are smart! My friend who was a write for Outdoor Life and has been hunting for over 50 years said they remind him of hunting elk. This is all done in thick cover, 3 and a half hours through dense jungle undergrowth (uluhe fern)from the car. Not as simple as walking into a pasture and kaboom, dead cow.

I almost got trampled by this cow and my friend saved my life with one well placed shot as the bull closed in to 5' from my back.

And some obligatory knife porn...the simple blade that performed the butchering. With a little help from my 12" ontario.

These hunts are special eradication hunts on the Big Island, Hawai'i. The state recently did a sweep on chopper, then on foot with dogs to try to eradicated them. They whacked 150 but I'm sure theres some more up there still.

The beef tastes a little gamey, but I think it can be attributed to their diet. There isn't much available grass in a native Hawaiian forest, so all small saplings and trees and knocked over and stripped of their vegetation and bark. It looks like a logging machine went through certain areas. It tastes very "cowish"....if you know what I mean. We made burgers, meatloaf and a bunch of other dishes and found that the ground meat is the best way to prepare it. It's also very chewy, even the New Yorks were firm and not very tender.

Heres todays entry for the JK knife. This is a pic from my first turkey hunt with my buddy. Theres 3 because i accidently got two in one and he didnt see it until after he shot. So we ended up with three. Once again on my girlfriends property. They have alot of birds around their house.

(My girlfriend is making me post a picture everyday until its over, I think she likes your work John.)

I'm not a hunter ... yet. I don't know how to shoot (sorry) and don't have the funds for the equipment.

But I do learn how to track and get close to wild animals, and I'm slowly getting good.

Would you consider this a good shooting range?

Heres todays entry, This picture was taken a few years back on a Junior Hunt in Northern California. We didnt have any luck calling them in since their were so so many hunters that morning on the Wildlife Refuge so we decided we would try the canals bordering the refuge. It worked out well. I shot many first time ducks that morning including, Mallard and Woodduck. Thanks again for the chance.

Man, you killed the hell out of that bottom squirrel.

Nice knife.

lol, I only meant to break his neck with a small whack from my knife...but as you can see, it took his head clean off. The knife is a JK(stomper) blade btw.

Well, I'm actually entering into this contest for a buddy of mine, since he managed to break his skinning knife last weekend! These are two of his pictures that make me laugh, and so I figured they would be good entries.
