Jogging Knife

+1 on Spyderco Salt I. It's very light (2oz) and totally rust proof, so you never worry about sweating on it. Blade length is 3", exactly what you're looking for.

Can you carry a small fixed blade? i have been carrying a boker nealy while jogging for the past year and a half and could not be happier. You can mount a large kydex flap on the sheath that allows to carry the knife upside down clipped on the elastic waist band of any running pants. It works extremely well and sits very firmly. nothing rattles, and it is quickly unsheathed if you need it. it is also extremely light.

as far as folders i like a native or a micarta handled al mar falcon, very light knife

What others have said...

If you sweat much, some sort of Spyderco Salt.

Another vote for the Kabar Dozier, if you have it IWB, you will not even feel it there, just remember to oil it.

+ 1 to the kabar dozier (dont own it but it looks comparable)
+ 1 to the kershaw skyline (own it, love it for light weight edc)

If you are feeling saucey and want an spendy knife then +1 to the spyderco salt 1 (own it, but dont really use it in dry envoronments. If your sweating a lot -it would be a great option)

Boker Subcom series.

Trust me.
It's perfect for jogging. It's flat, short, grippy, a frame lock, decent steel, and rides DEEP.

I have a Subclaw and Wharcom.

Salt 1. It's light weight, feels great in the hand, H1 is a great steel that can hold an edge and will never rust. And after a run, you can take a dig in the water with no worries :)

+1 on the Subcom series. I always have a subclaw when I run, usually IWB. Haven't had any problems with rust yet, though I do clean it well after my run.

The Salt-1 is a good recommendation.

If you're thinking about defense, a Kel-Tec P-3AT or Ruger LCP, clipped inside your waistband. I don't place much stock in knives as defensive weapons, personally.

I like to IWB a Pacific Salt when I'm out jogging. No rust means no sweat.

I run w/ a Delica 4. I have no idea how much it weighs, though. I also wear a tiny lumbar pack backwards; so, it rides in there.

Benchmade 530 Pardue hands down. I jog with mine clipped to the waistband, not the pocket. With black jog shorts, none of the sheeple can see you're carrying. It's my EDC well.

I'm looking for a light weight folder (under 3oz) to put in my pocket while jogging. It should be small in blade length as well (around 3")
Some lightweight suggestions:

  • Spyerco Dragonfly FRN (1.2 oz, 2 5/16 inch)
  • Benchmade 530 (1.8 oz, 3 1/4 inch)
  • Case Peanut (1.2 oz, 2 3/8 inch)
  • Kershaw LFK (1.1 oz, 2 1/8 inch)
