John Leblanc

How do you get hold of John Leblanc? Thanks. Does he still make the conversion for surface grinders to belt grinders? Thanks.

I've wanted one of those ever since I first saw one back in the early 90's... I may just have to order one now... Not sure where to put it though!!! :D

Yeah, I wanted one years ago but learned to do without and forgot about it. This has sparked new interest, I must have one! :D

Congrats, Spencer.

Nick I said the same thing but I found a spot for it, got it fired up today and man is it one smooth machine the possibilities are endless.

Don he is not getting any younger, its a wonder he is still cranking them out

Thanks
Spencer

2400$? Yowza! Of course with variable speed and all the bells and whistles that's about rite. And it does have a lot of features, but for the extra 1400 I'd probably get a KMG to go with what I've got. Now if I seen on in operation and got a chance to work on one I might have to have one. In any event it's an awsome looking machine and I'm jelouse

Yep 2400 smackers and every penny is worth it, thing will be paid off this weekend. For me its one less set up on the kmg's freeing them up to do other things. Its set up about 2' away from the twins as well, so I am not moving far to use it, some thing I like about it if that location does not work I just pick it up and move it because it is a self contained unit.. I have no problem paying top dollar for quality equipment like this grinder or Robs machines

I will try to do a youtube on it to show you what she can do

Spencer

Okay I am at Johns shop now and will post some pics as I can, its really cool

Tell him the small wheel on my flat platen went out for the second time in ten years and I want to order a whole flat platen assembly with the wheels already assembled on there and a new flatter flat platen LOL and maybe some extra small wheels for the next time this happens since maybe he will stop servicing these grinders, Okay??? It would be a great favor to me. I haven't ground a blade in 24 months! HELP!!!! You would be saving my life! Well nearly! ----Joe

I would also like to know how to get a hold of John Leblanc. I have one of his grinders that I bought from Johnny Stout. I'd like to get another if possible. I live in Austin, TX so am in driving range. Anyone have an email or phone # they could message me? travisweige@gmail.com

Thanks.

I believe Mr. Leblanc stopped making grinders a while back... too bad, they are nice machines.
I heard Tom Krein may have plans and parts, can't remember where though.

This thread is well over seven years old, and the last post before today was more than six years ago. At no time during the interim did anyone post any info about actually getting ahold of this cat or his machines.

I have a sneaky suspicion that posting here is not the best way to learn about Mr. LeBlanc or his grinders...

He sold those through Jantz or one of those supply houses

Here are some pictures of mine.

Tom

Thanks so much, that helps me understand it quite a bit.

On the underbelly pic, is that dark spot oil creeping out from the tensioning pivot bearing point ?

I was lucky enough to locate Mr. Tom Krein. He is in fact still in the process of producing both the vertical & the horizontal versions of the John LeBlanc grinders.

He said he is still a ways out though . . .
