John Lloyd Knives

Carried a few John LLoyd slipjoints over the years, gave them away to friends / family. Been on the lookout for another Lloyd to carry and recently found this 3.5" stag swayback, perfect size for the pocket and great user blade shape. John's 52100 heat treat performance is superior in my experience and no one gets a better blade to handle ratio ... look closely at the tip in the third pic, how close it is to the end of the handle! Lines on the stag covers follow the lines of the knife, nicely matched, excellent hafting, spot-on walk and talk. It's really sharp, already bit me so it's mine for sure now. Often times I am reluctant to use my custom slipjoints, but John is prolific enough that another will come along if, heaven forbid, I lose it, or give it away. You owe it to yourself to carry and use a nice slipjoint, treat yourself to a Lloyd, glad I grabbed this one.

That's a nice one for the pocket, John! It doesn't get much better then a stag shadow from Mr. Lloyd.

Certainly a very classy EDC and that's what it's all about with knives

Tremendous Stag and as you say, the right proportions  I agree about that steel, its sharpness and durability puts many alleged better steels to shame .

Regards, Will

Something new from John ,and a new stamp too .

John said the blade is Dion Damascus ,a copper San Mai of sorts with 52100 . The Copper stag he said ,was done years ago by " a guy " and he thinks it was pressed ,or jigged . Blade is ground very thin ,neat one of a kind piece

A city knife with A2 steel and " phenolic rag" this material was once a WWII field telephone box John cut up

Super thin knife and lightweight ,I think would make the ultimate gents knife ,for carry in office attire etc

City knife is a Loveless design, not a Loyd, although Bob believed it needs jimping on the bottom of the handle just under the pivot. He said it helps in peeling fruit. Loyd's is closer to Bob's than most customs.

Pic from John Lloyd ,more City knives . These are3-3/4" closed with 52100 carbon blades & springs

Mammoth ,Stag ,Vintage Roller Rag & Westinghouse Ivorite ( paper micarta)

That Mufflon (Goat Horn) has turned out exceptionally well, got to start trying to save....not easy with electricity going up over 100% here....but still ;)

Nice glennbad glennbad  I'd like to see an overview of what appears to be a pretty great display set up behind - the knives and the shelving.
