JohnDF's Short GAW

I'm in, but if I should be fortunate enough to win, please send the prize to waverave waverave !

He certainly looks like he appreciates peanuts, and I really enjoyed his recent GAW in which people posted their "happy places". Even though I didn't enter (because I'm not a full-size trapper guy and I got to busy to post a not an entry post), I liked the GAW a lot because we got to know more about the BF members who participated. In fact, lame as it sounds, The Porch is actually one of my happiest places because of: how much I learn here; the interaction of kind, generous, knowledgeable, and entertaining people here; and the acceptance I experience from people who have the same addiction/obsession/ interest that I do.

I like peanuts, and have several, including a Case brown jigged delrin Tru-Sharp model that I won in the first GAW I ever entered at BF. It was also my first peanut, my first Case knife, and my first "raffle win" of any kind (thanks, Cory). I have 2 pieces of toast every morning with peanut butter and honey (when available, I'll add banana slices, too). Before my toast, I have oatmeal that contains many supplemental ingredients including Planters Dry Roasted unsalted peanuts; I usually throw a handful of those unsalted dry roasted peanuts into most of the meals I prepare (not sandwiches).

In addition to the delrin Case peanut, I've picked up a stainless stag Case peanut and a CV chestnut jigged bone Case peanut, as well as peanuts by some other makers. One of my carry categories each week is a peanut-like knife. But my tastes have changed over time, and I much prefer a small single spring pen knife with a blade on each end over a peanut. So that's why I'm really giving an extra chance to a peanut NUT like waverave waverave !

Thanks for the generous GAW, John!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Good luck to all of the entrants! :D:D

Wow thanks GT! I really appreciate the gesture and kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed the GAW even if you didn't enter.

I have the tendency to eat peanut butter when I wake up in the night.
Sounds like a good late night snack. My go-to late night snack is licorice. Your's sounds healthier :)

I am not in; I have too many peanuts already. But great GAW! I have been on the verge of buying the Carhartt version several different times. Good luck to the entrants!
Thanks for adding content anyways

Not an entry, but:

Ken
Great drawing of a peanut.

That is way cool

I'm in. Old Boardwalk Atlantic City NJ. You could smell the peanuts roasting blocks away.
Must smell GREAT!

A generous move. But I would expect nothing less from you GT :)

Love Snoopy, never cared for Woodstock though.

I am peanuts about knives (as expressed by the following equation):

I am in. Thanks for the GAW! Raul
Appealing to my math side... Smart :)

The WWI Flying Ace and Joe Cool were Snoopy's greatest personas.
Yes, Flying Ace snoopy was awesome!

I'd love the opportunity to win a Case Peanut. I thought this was a beautiful 2007 Case XX -Limited Edition Amber Bone Raindrop Damascus Peanut. Shoot I forgot my gold membership lapsed last week so I can't post pictures until Friday when I renew it sorry. If it helps I once sent my girlfriends young fella to school with a Peanut butter sandwich in his lunch and dame near got arrested for the atrocious oversight.:confused:o_O:mad::oops:

I have never owned a peanut, I have been going over and over looking at them online. It would be the perfect knife to carry when I'm in the City.:)

OK, I thought of something Peanut related that I can add.

Snoopy and his Sopwith Camel (replica), and the Red Baron's Fokker Dr.1 (replica).

Times have changed, haven't they.

Well then I guess I have to put in an entry.

This just may be my all time favorite candy bar, the Twix Baby Ruth, and payday will always be loved but the Reese's Nutrageous is just mind blowing.
That looks yummy, I've never tried one though.

Yes, there's no way cops (or such) could get offended by a Peanut.

Okay, THAT'S amazing.

One more couldn’t hurt, I guess.

My wife asks me how many knives I need? I tell her I need "Just one more." Just one more is the perfect amount of knives in my opinion :)

Never owned a peanut - wouldn’t mind giving one a go. Another cool giveaway, John.

Haha obviously I didn’t complete the required reading.

Congrats, Dwight!!:cool::cool: If you're not already involved, you should consider joining the Cult of the Peanut. :D

Thanks, John, for the generous GAW whose duration matched the length of a Peanut - very apt!! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:
(And even though I wasn't entered for myself, citing preference for a pen knife these days, I'm still planning to order my first Rough Rider peanut before the end of "summer", i.e. 11:59pm EDT on Labor Day. :))

I just have to post to say, I remember the Planters store on the boardwalk! (is it still there?) I used to go with my grandparents, and we'd always stop and watch the peanuts roasting on a big conveyor belt thingy. :)
