JohnDF's Short GAW

If you're not already involved, you should consider joining the Cult of the Peanut.
Thanks GT. It just so happens I was graciously accepted into the cult no more than 2 or 3 weeks ago. Read every post of that thread and what a thread it is! John's fantastic Carhart peanut (and I am almost always wearing Carhart) will serve me well.
Thanks again John!

Congratulations on winning a knife that will help you decide what to wear.
Well thank you Henry. Since retirement carpentry has been my sole occupation. And fodderwing has been my sole client. I believe the knowledge that my wardrobe will now be in concert with my pocket knife may well create a certain harmony… a Feng Shui, if you will....

Hyperbole at its worst. But thank you my friend for the kind sentiment. :)

Being an old redneck man from the Appalachian Mountains I had to look up the definition for hyperbole ( we don't use that word around here.) :D:D
Nothing exaggerated because I do know a good and deserving man when I meet one besides I know about your covert behind the scenes activity's. ;)

Well, then double congratulations are due you, Dwight!! ;):cool::thumbsup: And maybe triple congrats because of the wardrobe/pocketjewelry coordination!:p:thumbsup:

(I'm kind of embarrassed that I didn't remember your recent induction into the Cult of the Peanut.:confused: I try to be a "nosy neighbor" type on The Porch and keep track of as many developments with as many members as I can. I could make the excuse that 2 and 3 weeks ago, I was on vacation and not paying attention as much as usual, but I suspect the real reason I was "out of the loop" on this issue is my decreasing mental capacity as time passes!:thumbsdown::D:D)

John, I think The Porch is like a Victorian novel and seems to have a huge cast of characters that initially seem beyond comprehension! But after a while, as you keep reading, you realize that there are lots of characters that come and go quite quickly, while you gradually start to recognize and get to know the major characters. With The Porch, I eventually (for me it was maybe 6 months to a year) realized that there a lot of BF members that are here for quite a short time (and/or don't post very frequently), while there are "regulars" that you really get to know (and, at least for me, some of their knives fill me with unforgettable envy ;):D). So give it a couple more months, and you'll probably have your own reserved rocker on The Porch and will know who sits where and don't touch their chairs! ;)
