Johnny Cash Fans?

I followed John's career from the beginning. A radio disk jockey in Houston used to call him "Johnny Trash" I tried to not like him but I heard him on the radio so much and a few times in person that I began to like him in spite of what tje DJ said. The more I heard him, the more I liked him. He recorded an album way back in the early '60's called "Ride This Train." It was a traveloge across most of the southland. Each cut started off with "Ride this train to ........." I remember one of the places was Bogalousa, Louisiana. I really liked that album. Then years later he recorded "Sunday Morning Coming Down" and that one got me. From then on I was a Cash fan.

Some of you may know this story, but I will retell it anyway. He was born "John Cash." When he joined the Air Force they told him he had to have a middle initial. They told him if he didn't have one, to just pick one. He picked R. During his time in the service he was John R. Cash. When he came home his friends came to call him J. R. His family always called him John and his fans called him Johnny. Whatever the name, he was one of a kind.
