Join the Dark Side...

The M2K is a fantastic production knife, and an easy recommendation to anyone as an entry bush blade. Great slicer, easy to sharpen. Handle isn't too bad, but the tape is kind of a must for my paws.

I used Birchwood Casey Perma Blue on one of my Moras, came out nice. I haven't sharpened it yet so the blade is still all dark. Only works on carbon steel of course.

Mustard is good, but I like the vinegar for the bubbling fizz! Its hypnotic!

Spooky, that blade looks sweet! It's so dark, I thought maybe you had blued it, too. Like somebody said, it's really going to look good after you grind on the scandi edge the first time!

That looks badass with tha green micarta! Did you just use vinegar?
Oh yeah, that little Enzo looks so out of place there for some reason. ..........

Marcelo, I'm looking all over that pic but I can;t find the EnZo! Where is it?

Speaking of interesting effects, wait till you smell the combination of the steel and lemon juice. Wowza.

hahahaha. I once had a ziplock of lemon juice with a knife soaking in it I hung on a hook in my bedroom. Made the room rather ripe.:D My wife thought id lost my mind and nailed a bag of piss on the wall.:D It was pretty funny. You should have seen her face when she asked if I was soaking a knife in piss, and why I hung it on the wall in our bedroom. I laughed so hard I about fell over.:D

If I had joes setup goin on she would think I had a methlab cookin!!!!!

I like how your patina turned out. I had started on my new Breeden and it had a little bit of change. Then I used it and touched up the blade (stropped on 1000grit). I suppose over years, it will develope a nice patina.

Ok guys I got a dumb question :o After the blade has Pitina do you still need to oil the blade regulary to protect it ?

I missed it. It looks shorter....almost stubby. Has it been modified? It might just be the angle of the pic or something, but it looks out of proportion.

Not that I know of. It's got some beefy, round handles by ilbruche that go all the way up, if that makes a difference visually.

Ok I started this project last night & finished it up today . This is my first try at this - Breeden Handy Little Knife aka -HLK :D

quick question...what would be the best way to remove a patina if you were unhappy with it? i haven't tried to put one on yet because of this.

Best to get rid of the knife - send it to me for disposal :D

Alternatively, you can remove the patina with a scotchbrite pad followed by some fine steel wool. Shouldn't be a problem.

All the best,

- Mike

What mentor said. Alternatively, if it's about if you'll like the general look versus the look on a specific knife, you could always get a cheap carbon mora and try it out. Then if you don't like it, you've got a new glovebox knife. :D

should you wet the scotch brite pad or just go at it dry?
