Actually Kevin, the CKCA having no connection to the ABS, I don't see why we would want to box the makers into a corner. I'd much rather have a system whereby subscribing makers get, as part of their membership, 1 professional photo + hosting. They would get to choose which pieces they want shown. Arguably, a maker who is now part of the AKI might want some of their better, later work displayed.

You are right Joss as the CKCA has no connection or affiliation with the ABS and is for ALL custom knife enthusiast, however I don't see that as a reason for not providing it's members with something of interest (test knives) for not just those who follow forged but all custom knives.

There will be no corners, however something for everyone. There is interest and association focus on custom knife heritage, documentation and possibly tracking so an area for showcasing "test knives" could fall under this.

There could just as easy and most likely will be areas for say folders, stock removal and even AKI knives as you suggest, however again, that would not imply that we are tied or boxed in to the AKI.

Could any of you makers explain WHY you chose what you did (shape, size, materials)? I am most interested in how you decided what would be a great representation of what you do.

I love the pics and quality shown- maybe my little post will be able to help others in the future!
