JULY BOTM..Maybe a 112?

Looks kinda cool, but I already have two spitfires, and though I like the looks and design, both no longer lock up tight, and it's not from use, neither one has ever cut anything but paper, both came loose just from opening and closing, and for the life of me no matter how I adjust the screws I can't get it to lock up good without tightening so far that you can't hardly open the knife. One is just a plain jane in 420HC, but the other is a nice SK model in S35VN that's just beautiful, but right now not very useable.

Yet another cheesy cheap looking carnival knife, A double Meh. What is wrong with Buck? Have they given up on making beautiful knives that people would be proud to own? Seems like it. Such a shame. I guess I'll continue to have some of our members rescale my stash of old knives. At least they haven't lost their creativity.

Its not for me but its a price point that works for alot of people. I would of liked to see the BOTM offered in materials that represent the custom shop or a build out knife. Or a discontinued knife with the custom shop touches. Maybe a Ron Hood knife with stag handles or whatever.

Sample of two price points.

500 X $85.00 = $42,500,00
500 X $225.00 = $112,500,00

Not buying this one gives me a little slack I would have spent on BOTM to spend somewhere else. May have to think about ordering a buckeye burl 501 to match the 110 and 112 I'm waiting on... 🤔 ... yeah, that may be just the ticket

I wonder, based on the above example, which price point Buck recoups a larger profit.

Material cost, and labor, has to be factored (smaller percentage profit on the higher end materials ?). It seems that Buck is making more money at the $85 - $135 price range - as seen by the BOTM offerings in 2021. Or maybe Buck doesn't feel confident they can sale 500 of a premium knife build at $225 ?
