It's not so much that I wouldn't pay $400 or more for a Buck knife, I do on occasion, it just does not fit with what I desire to collect.

Great looking “knife”, and probably tops for its intended purpose; but it’s about $300 more than I’d pay for an outdoors tool.

It’s a shame they went to $400. I think the BOM loyalists are going to rethink their commitment to the series.

Maybe next month we’ll get a knife that represents “Buck” again. 112, 101, 118, 301, 500, 116, 121, 124, 302, 347, etc...
The first three and so far 4 of the 7 Buck of the Month models have been very traditional patterns. Even if they all don't appeal to me I'm glad to see Buck offering a little something for everyone.

I carry a Compadre Froe on the Mule for landowner trimming duties. I have come to prefer it over a small hatchet. I carry other $20 tools that can saw and prune much more efficiently than an all in one, but then my need is not the intended market as weight and compactness is not a concern for me. It is a pretty neat looking tool though.

I'm with most of you on this one, I'll pass. $400, I'll buy another Randall knife or take the fam on a long weekend trip rather than buy a "zombie knife".

It's a lawnmower blade with a handle. I'm sure someone knows what it's good for. I am impressed that the July BOTM is 400 dollars and I don't know what it is, that's kind of cool.

I'll take my 119 Brahma over a lawnmower blade, though.

The Buck of the Month knives have been out of my price range for some months now. At $400 this one really drives the point home. The club knives of recent years have also been out of reach. I understand the costs involved in making limited run knives, and I understand the tendency to try to make them showpieces, but it'd be nice if they occasionally give a nod to the rest of us.

"Designed for serious operatives and extreme situations."

"The full mission capable knife"

If that is your line of work, $400 is most probably a steal. It sure does look like it would help you get home in one piece!

I'll get by with my 119 Brahma too. Nice dog Stephen.

I have mixed feelings about a Buck like this..and other high end Bucks. The Onset for instance is the same price and I wanted one because it was different but careful spending 400.00 on 112's would get me 2 maybe 3 I can display. Looking back at the prices of Mastodon ivory, Damascus ,big Bowie's and other pricey custom Bucks from the 80' and 90's and allowing for inflation this might seem cheep in a few years. If I'm not mistaken this is the first and only LE and I'm sure there's 75 folks that the price is no big deal at all..and will buy it. I'm waiting for the BOTM 112...

Wow, day two and they have not yet sold out the 75 of these yet. Is this the first BOTM that did not sell out the first day? They will offer these to the BCCI members at a discount I bet before the next two days are up!

Times have changed brother TAH and with that change comes higher prices.

I still believe that Buck knives represent a good value.

The BOTM is a different story, as it is a limited production knife.

It’s no doubt a capable tool! When I first seen it maybe 2 years ago I calle dit a zombie-chopper. It’s probably great for ground clearing, wilderness search and rescue, and the zombie apocalypse.

My issue with this being the BOTM is that it’s probably the most obscure pattern Buck offers.

If one of the 7 doesn’t belong; this is it.

Yeah, it’s great theat Buck is showing some variety, but how is someone’s 12 knife BOTM display going to look with this in it?

Maybe next month we’ll get a “Buck” golf towel? <I know someone is reading this thinking “that’s a hell of an idea!”>

I decided to go for it! Figured I could add to the doom and gloom or make lemonade. The Night Hawk series are some of my favorites as well as other non traditional Buck patterns. This one will fit right in with my other, don't fit Bucks.
