JULY BOTM

I decided to go for it! Figured I could add to the doom and gloom or make lemonade. The Night Hawk series are some of my favorites as well as other non traditional Buck patterns. This one will fit right in with my other, don't fit Bucks.

Look at it like this, wow what a deal as its $10 cheaper than the tan one on the Buck web site!

I have mixed feelings about a Buck like this..and other high end Bucks. The Onset for instance is the same price and I wanted one because it was different but careful spending 400.00 on 112's would get me 2 maybe 3 I can display. Looking back at the prices of Mastodon ivory, Damascus ,big Bowie's and other pricey custom Bucks from the 80' and 90's and allowing for inflation this might seem cheep in a few years. If I'm not mistaken this is the first and only LE and I'm sure there's 75 folks that the price is no big deal at all..and will buy it. I'm waiting for the BOTM 112...
The onset is Damasteel and Titanium. Reason for price.

I am still considering a Onset sometime down the road and think it's a great knife and worth what Buck is asking for it. I'm just so focused on 112's its really hard for me to consider any other expensive Buck..But if I find one next year used and at a great price I'm in. I kinda like the the brown regular issue Talon.

Well.. Blue is one of my favorite colors... BUT... I like the handles on the left better.. It flows a lot better in contrast!!! JMO!! John

No time for pics but I just happened to be home for lunch when mine was delivered. Wow! This thing is way more bada$$ than I had hoped. Could actually feel my testosterone levels spiking even before it was completely out of the box let alone unsheathed! Very impressed with this hunk of steel and it's for sure a hunk.

It's very well done and quite sharp. Actually cut myself when I accidentally bumped my finger against the limb (limp) hook. I realize this isn't a model that will interest everyone or even a large number of Buck Nuts and at only 75 pieces it's not like a lot of folks can acquire one if they wanted to but for a very much nontraditional blade, Buck applied the same quality and attention to detail that we have come to expect and appreciate over the decades.

I didn't intend this to be a user but it's just begging to be used and abused. Thanks Buck!

Is the very front of the blade sharp too?

Is the handle long enough to accommodate a second hand or maybe half of a second hand?

Just curious, thanks.

The very front has a primary bevel but it's not actually sharpened. I believe that's to allow for prying without doing damage. I'd imagine one could add a secondary bevel with little effort depending on what you use and experience.

The area of the handle between the two down turned spots is roughly 4 1/8" so while there is some room left over for my hand, I wear a large glove there isn't room for more than one hand.

Great, thank you for the information :)

I'll try and get some decent photos for the SPS tomorrow.
