Jumbo versipack

I do like the whole CCW aspect of it. Who would expect a man carrying a purse to be armed, right? ;)

Seriously though, a couple questions about that aspect. What is the fastening system on the handgun pocket? Is it velcroed all the way across? Do you really need the handgun loop, or is it just a petty accessory? Does anyone have any pictures of the inside, including the handgun pocket?

Crap ammohouse, it just occurred to me that I am hijacking your thread. I'm sorry. If its too much of a nuisance contact me and I will edit my posts.

Keep it going, these are all good questions...some that I didn't think to ask.
The pictures of them being worn helped out also.
I ordered the right side but will probably carry on the left to have access to the water bottle more.

Don't forget, it has lots of other molle attachment points too that you can attach stuff to with malice clips. The Rolly Polly dump pouches are great (even though I don't own one yet. sucks being poor) along with a bunch of others.

Besides, I'm at a point in my life that really don't care if someone tries to judge me or how I look or what I wear. There's only one judge in my life that I need to worry about, God. (Sorry, just trying to say wear it how you want and don't worry about the sheeple). If my little rant went overboard, let me know and when I get home I'll edit it out.

Yes you need the loop. Without it, your weapon may point forward or back in the bag. It should always point down for safety reasons. Also, it keeps it in a "Ready to draw" position should you need it. A quick unzip and it's available in a holstered-like position.

You bastids gone and dun it now!!!!

I just bought a Jumbo S-type online and my wife's gonna kill me.

I love this forum.... I get in alot of shit... but at the end of the day, I got alot of cool stuff.

The handgun pocket is closest to your body, forming the back side of the pack. The inboard side of the pocket has a wide stripe of velcro. The holster accesory is a wide, stiff loop of velcro that you adjust to fit your handgun so the gun slides into it up to the trigger guard. Then, you stick the holster accesory into the pocket at the position and angle you prefer.

It seemed to simple to work well, but it works great! I bought a double mag pouch that I attach to the Versipack's main strap, but I think they also sell velcro-backed mag pouches that will stick inside the handgun compartment.

The Maxpedition website has the Milspec Monkey video review that should answer your questions.

Just a few observations and things that I would change on the Jumbo: (Maxpedition, ya reading? :) )

- the top cell/GPS pocket

The zipper should be on the front side, not on the back. It makes it hard to open when slung over you shoulder,

- the flashlight/knife slot on the left front of the bag

works GREAT, especially for my Pelican LAPD7060 light or any medium fixed blade.....BUT, when the little pouch in front of the flashlight slot has stuff in it, it makes it hard to insert a flashlight into the flashlight slot. Make it (flashlight slot) expanding please.

- the metal key clip

GREAT CLIPS, i love these things.....BUT why is it on the BACK of the bag out of my sight......where anyone can come up on a bus or train and unclip the keys. Move the key clip to the front strap please....

- Main compartment

nothing wrong here. Its just when its full it makes the rear weapons slot very tight and hard to remove a knife or firearm. maybe add 1" of expansion to the weapons slot to accommodate main compartment loading. (then and again maybe i should stop EDC'ing 8 bloody flashlights..... :D )

other than these things, the Jumbo is a GREAT bag, i have a hard time taking it off, even in the house.

Ya, I LOVE mine also Bushman. That's one of the reasons I'm surprised that my thread asking about how people have theirs loaded down for W&SS I didn't get more responses.

Maybe my title sucked. :grumpy:
