Sorry to say Jumbo's about done. Still need to peen the tang but I'll let the epoxy set up till tomorrow before I do that. This really is a big knife. 17 7/8" of blade, overall 25". I hope to take some better pictures after its all done. Been thinking of doing a display box for this one.

An attempt of a self portrait. After a half dozen attempts this was the best shot.

Joe, I really expected the worse of everything working on this huge knife. Once I got past the grinding it went pretty good. There was little time waisted trying to make those tiny adjustments that take forever. I forgot to mention that the steel for this blade was 5160. I did clay harden it and there's a fairly bold temperline. Something I really tried for. Hand rubbing this blade really wasn't all that bad either.

Mike, Thats what I'm talking about.......

Not bad for a wanna be knifemaker, you ol' pounder you. :D . A dandy tooth pick for sure.

Getting that thing forged and rough ground straight would be my biggest problem.

HMMMM. First of all Ray EXTREMELY EXCELLENT WORK, nice forging, grinding, shaping and as usual your hilt style is awesome unique and classic! Very worth a display box(like all your knives are really:))! Secondly, i guess a BIGGEST BOWIE contest is in order:D MWUHAHAHAHHAHAHA!

Ray is that your nickname " Jumbo" :D man that is big knife what kind of sheath you making a backpack. Looks good maybe if I come up to see Brent I will swing by to check that bad boy out.

Nice one Ray.

Holy COW! I saw someplace that there is a cutting competition at one of the shows that will NOT have a limit on blade size of any kind. That would be a cool knife to use in that cutting competition. It might go through a 2 x 4 in one mighty swing!

That is one cool and mean looking blade. Nice job Ray!

:jerkit: Hmm, I guess when Paul Bunyan comes over to pick it up, he'll be head over heals about it like I am, as usual Ray, outstanding work
