This is what was waiting on me when I got home today:

First of all, the pictures just do not do this blade justice (especially mine). It is a beast in the hand. Your first instinct is to chop into whatever is nearby. I barely resisted attacking the refrigerator.

The fit & finish is impeccable. The tang is completely flush with the scales. The grind is beautiful, and this sucker is sharp! For some reason, I was not expecting this to be hair shaving sharp (I don't know what I was thinking).
Well, it is, as my forearm can attest.

The grip on this thing is very comfortable, making the 10 inches of blade feel like an extension of your arm; a sharp, substantial, imposing extension of your arm. I have very big hands, and the handle is very roomy and generous, allowing for several grip styles.

The sheath is fantastic, as all reports have already said. Good retention, but not so tight you must fight to remove it. A thumb on the corner allows it to be removed easily, but I wouldn't worry about losing it.
The cordura backing is nice as well. The belt loop fit my gun-belt just fine. I have to say thanks here to the ESEE guys for providing such a well thought out sheathing system with the knife.
The pommel cover is retained by some Velcro when not in use. A small loop of para-cord and lock is provided to cinch it down when in use.

I had been feeling somewhat silly for buying this knife. I did not think that I really needed it for anything, and I had just ordered the ESEE 6. After receiving the Junglas, I do not feel bad at all. Not one bit. I needed this knife. I've been needing this knife for a long time and just did not know it. Honestly, I am not sure how I have been getting along without it...

If you are on the fence about this one, pull the trigger. All worries fade when it is in the hand. It is a really great piece. I have no idea how Jeff and Mike put this out at the price point they did. Bang for the buck does not even begin to cover it.

It is rainy, and I am inside with the baby napping, but I hope to get out and put this sucker to some use real soon. I will update the thread with some more pics and impressions when I put it through a few paces.

My thanks to ESEE for putting this out and Rowen for doing such a bang up job building this beauty!

For the love of God don't have them think they should raise the price until AFTER I get one.

bwahahahaha!!!!
you didn't preorder?
I got mine locked in less than 2 days before the dealer sold out his initial order. (even before they showed up)

Epic

For the love of Odin, why did i opened this thread....
First i thought it was just another big mothaf***** knife. Now i have to fight the urge to get one and I dont even really need it, having a 10 inch kukri inbound.

Its been 2 days in this place and i'm already wanting 2 izzies, a -6 and now this?

you guys suck! ;)

oh, nice butter knife you got there :)

Gotta love express delivery! Get to choppin'!

I'm only about 3 hours away from Knifeworks, where I had it pre-ordered. I had it the day after they did.

That would be a great test!

Please post pictures if you do. :D

Weather report predicts rain all weekend. Hell, there's even a coastal flood watch ('ats me). It might come to that before the weekend is up. I will do my best to post pics before the wife takes the Junglas to me (she hand picked the fridge). Maybe I can get her to post pics too!

Heh, sorry. Didn't think of that. It really is more than worth the price asked. Better hurry before Jeff & Mike come to their senses.

I've been giving it alot of thought as of late. That is one beautiful beast.

Do it! You won't regret anything but waiting as long as you did.

Still raining, so I figured I would see how it would feel piggybacked with the H.E.S.T.
The H.E.S.T. sheath has a couple of spots that fit the Junglas sheath near the bottom as long as you can find long enough screws.

I like it!

ARRRRRGGGG!!! This place is killing me.

If and when I do get one of those.I predict a lot of pouches being attached to the sheath.Along with one of my smaller ESEE's.

Aicchus, nice combo you have there. One heck of a duo. I personally am in search for a more rugged lookin beater, just a flat spine instead of a drop point, but I may just buy this one and rough up the scales and strip the blade.

I just ordered a junglas and I firmly believe it was entirely due to the influence of this forum! I really had no choice. At least thats what I'm telling myself!

Thanks for the photos!!! Mines on preorder. I'm just waiting to move into my new apartment before I order it. The wait is killing me.
