Jungle Trip July 08'

Not done yet still got my jungle pictures including the Bora indians, snakes, gators, boats, and the people. It was another trip of a lifetime, you people must go and experience the simplicity of happiness.

Thanks again and we were all talking about the good people here on the forums while we were out there. More pictures and videos in the works!

Still going to post Jungle Photos and videos on the people and our shelters.

That is really cool, I am envious.

I am hoping to go to south America with some nurse friends on a medical trip next year but we will see.

Hey ruben, How did the leather sheaths hold up? What did you think of jeffs Kydex? Anything you would change? How is the carbon steel looking?

Leather was fine but not not too exposed to the elements. Kydex from Jeff H was Outstanding and I really wanted to email him with all my thoughts but since you got me taking a break from cleaning three weeks worth of gear...I liked the sheath and it even carried the Izula in the front. It got dirty and was used to dig a little. The drain hole is nice and big but got mud in it the first day that may still be there. It will be visable on the BNN tv show "Try Before You Die" in september. Jeff and Aguilar (Peruvian Special Forces Survival Instructor) used my orange handle machete and the Kydex sheath was on Auguilars belt for the filming. I think I posted pictures of it on his belt. I though he or someone else might adopt it while I was there and wear it so I asked Jeff H to make the belt loop big enough, which he did. I wouldn't change a thing really. It was for transport and stashing in my pack for bus and boat rides.

Carbon Steel looks good. JK is spotless even though it was used mostly by the Peruvians for all kinds of food.

Breeden Kat has some patina from potatoes, yucca, and caiman tail. I wiped them both down with Century Solutions-Tough Cloth before I left and they were fine. The machete is all rusted.
