This knife is not listed in BRL4+ or my old Goins. Marked KING in the tiny crown with GERMANY at the base. The reverse tang has a very different mark, a Soccer ball and the foot that kicked it, wearing a striped knee sock. Best regards

Robin

Looks like some beautiful carpentry, will you do a bit of a reveal? I'm not familiar with what I'm looking at...

:)

Paul

Paul, it's a Gerstner International Mini-Max (GI-511) in front of a GI-525. The "real" box is perfect for storing pocket knives. The new one is more a novelty than truly useful (the small drawers, of which there are 4, hold all of two WLSTs® each!), but it's way too cool-- all the more as a miniature of the "real" one. I'll write more about both in a Knife Storage Thread here, time permitting.

Thanks Sarah, it looks beautiful indeed although at that small size if it's no good for storing knives then what will you do with it?

Oh, it's good for storing (a small number of) knives (and some sharpening supplies, accoutrements, etc.), even better for carrying a selection in Style®.

Just, possibly overkill. ;)

More soon.

Robin...

The foot kicking a soccer ball was a trademark used by Boentgen & Sabin, Bonsa-Werk, Bonsa. Similar tool knives were marked Luna, Bonsa, Voss Cut Co, and Edward Zinn.

For anyone interested, I just wrote up an overview of my Gerstner International boxes here.

Pmew, sneak preview-- the small box is perfect for a careful selection of WLSTs®:
