Just as a fun Friday night thread, what knife would 007 carry?

In Quantum of Solace Daniel Craig's Bond used an MOD Harkins Triton OTF. Plain edge because Bond doesn't need any silly serrations.

That was a knife that was pulled on him. Later, when he's handing over his weapons at the hotel, he has a small fixed blade in a kydex sheath, but I never ID'd what it was.

Depends on the Bond if you ask me. Sean Connery and George Lazenby would have had something like a Case Peanut, I can imagine Roger Moore with some sort of Italian stiletto, Timothy Dalton would have had a Microtech probably, Pierce Brosnan would definitely be a Sebenza guy, and Daniel Craig would have a Zero Tolerance 0300. Those are my picks.

I like this answer, but I think Pierce Brosnan might carry a pink Delica that he lifted from a female villain. I could be wrong, but he just does not seem like the type that would carry his own knife.

lol... WRONG!!! Regardless of what character Pierce Brosnan is playing he'd carry this...

Now go slap yourself and then watch Seraphim Falls!

As an aside, here, the reason for starting the thread is that after years of absolutely loving the Bond movies (Connery and Craig are my favorites) I finally starting reading the Fleming novels. Craig has Bond's actual character nailed, in my opinion, more than any other actor....I still love the Connery Bond because he's so smooth, the movies have that delightful 60s campiness, and he's Sean F'in Connery..

The books are excellent, btw.

My favorite Bond quote was from Diamonds Are Forever. He asks the woman if "the collar matches the cuffs" :D

Man I love this movie, I caught the last half of it on TV once and have been searching for the DVD ever since.

There was a story a forum member wrote a couple years back about a spy using a traditional peanut because it allowed him to move freely through police checks no questions asked

It definitely depends on the actor playing bond. They all portrayed him a little differently.
I'm thinking it might go like this

Connery - Fairbain Sykes

Lazenby - a slip joint for sure, maybe a case peanut

Moore - Italian switchblade

Dalton - some kind of fancy OTF, maybe a MircoTech Halo

Brosnan - Vic Classic

Craig - some kind of Benchmade Auto or maybe the Spyderco Citadel

I thought we were talking about Pierce as a James Bond. I can not see his version of Bond carrying an antler handled fixed blade. LOL

I think the best tool Bond could carry would be a multi-tool of some sort. Like a BO Victoronix Spirit

I think Varg is on the right track here. And whatever brand/model it might be, surely the tool he'd be fondest of would be the corkscrew!

Glad Lazenby hasn't been forgotten, I believe Fleming said he was closest to his idea of Bond.

Bond isn't a knife guy. The poison dart shooter that he has on

his wrist in moonraker, is more bond-style.

I started a thread exactly like this a couple of years ago. The conclusion was that it depended upon the actor portraying Bond.

I really was looking for more the character from the novels.......or more, the traditional image of Bond. Something that would mix with the caviar, martinis, and Aston Martins but still be functional and deadly.

Al Mar Sere, both classy and deadly.

I imagine a modern bond carrying the Microtech Navy Scarab. It will fire underwater and has tritium in the firing button.

He wore an automatic dive watch, so an automatic dive knife makes sense.

...to kill the primary bad guy:D

For the classic Bond, something sophisticated, but impractical for his uses. Like a William Henry. For the newer, Bourne-ripoff Bond, something that the writers heard was "tactical," like a Benchmade Auto or Microtech.
