Just as a fun Friday night thread, what knife would 007 carry?

Nealy4000480SEPT.jpgMany good ideas already but as for me I immediately thought of the Nealy Aikuchi with the MCS sheath system.

I think this really hit it on the head. I think the 2 things you need to consider were that he was ex-SAS and a pilot I believe and that he carried a Walther PPK, not the fanciest piece of equipment, if anyone has fired one they know what I mean.

Bond was ex-Royal Navy, not ex-SAS and, as stated earlier, favoured the Fairbairn-Sykes dagger. I believe that in 'From Russia with Love' his briefcase contained a throwing-knife or two. (http://www.swaineadeney.co.uk/products/bond_a/).

Bond is a patriot so he would get Q to supply him with a British made knife. A Fairbain Sykes would be the ticket for offensive ops but he would probably carry a SAK for discretion when he is operating under cover. Perhaps, Q will commission a special issue of knives from a British maker to replace the SAK.

Definitely this Al Mar Eagle Talon. Slim, pointy, classy dressed in black/brown micarta.

I see Bond carrying an elegant slim bladed auto with exotic scales, something like mammoth ivory, with silver bolsters and etched with gold patterned chasing.

007 is the epitome of coolness and sophistication, and would never stoop to carrying something as chunky and workmanlike as a CRK Sebenza or similar.

Craig fought a bad guy with a Masters of Defence OTF Auto in the last film. Bond had scissors, with which he prevailed.

I'll just say it, so it's out of the way...

James Bond would carry a SPYderco. *groan*

This may sound goofy but the coolest scenario for me to envision is the Craig Bond getting into a protracted knife fight with nothing more than a Victorinox Soldier, winning -and then popping the top of a beer bottle with it

Any nicer knife setup would just be too simple and easy :D:thumbup:

For the classic Bond, something sophisticated, but impractical for his uses. Like a William Henry. For the newer, Bourne-ripoff Bond, something that the writers heard was "tactical," like a Benchmade Auto or Microtech.

The "Bourne ripoff" Bond is actually very much like the character from the Fleming novels. I would submit that Bourne's character (which is cool) is based somewhat on the original Bond character.
