Just curious, but do you buy knives.......

Some of us are having fun with the silly company names and all. That’s good fun.

Not sure if I would purchase a knife from FBBBKC or not. It sure would make a fun gift for some friends and family members.

I do, however, avoid products with names like Skull Krusher, Last Rights Knife, Dark Alley Companion, Last Chance Defender, etc..

I also avoid manufacturers with names that could be used against me in a legal situation (Cold Steel, this means you.

I am not surprised that ZT has shifted from their full name to just two initials.
Smart move on their part.

Anything with a skull logo is straight out and black tactical finishes are normally a no go but, I made finish exceptions in the past.

A cute little fluffy bunny logo might be kinda fun.
You could have the bushcraft knife and a small field knife called Thumper. Something like the CPK EDC series.

If pink or rainbow finish will be available - I'm with you !
[both blade and handle]
Noo - sheath and lanyard too ...

I would like something a little less flashy. Give me coyote brown scales and a heavy stonewashed blade.
A flat pommel with a bunny logo deeply inset.

The QC/ heat treatment stamp of approval could be a little carrot.

A few months ago I fought tooth and nail, and giggled, for a knife called the Doodoo. Then somebody told me it's a science name for a bird. Since it was too grown up for my taste, I stopped carrying it out of resentment.

So yes. Name does matter a lot for knives.

Names do not matter to me that much. If I want an over the top combat style knife Lynn Thompson delivers.
Otherwise, ZT and Spyderco gets my coin for innovation and lightness.
Cold Steel has lots of cool names...ZT does not. I have a lot of ZT knives...FWIW.

The name doesn't matter to me. I just want *good* materials at a *good* price.

I like Cold Steel. I don't care about the names or marketing. The Recon 1 and Ultimate Hunter (and many other of their knives) satisfy my "good materials at good price" requirement.

Your definition of good materials at a good price my be different. I just know what I like in my budget range.

Most names don't affect my decision to buy a knife. I have both a Cold Steel Master Hunter and an Ultimate Hunter, though I haven't hunted anything in decades.

I draw the line at Boker Magnum Rainbow Unicorn though.

Name, never crosses my mind. Fit/finish/function--> 1,2,3...

I didn't buy the Lionsteel Shuffler because of the name.

shuffler - someone who walks without raising the feet.

To me it brings to mind down and outs, beggars, etc. Just not a good mental image.

I bought a TRC Splinter 120 a year or so ago. It is a great, good looking, all purpose outdoors knife. M390 steel. A few months ago it was renamed This Is Freedom. The name is prominently displayed on the spine.

I would not have bought it if was marked like that.

BF member @Pekota designed it.

I think some of our forum members are not being entirely truthful.

But I get it...this is a time when one must be very guarded in one's words.
No one wants the mob to paint them as a bigot.

Those who say that the name of the knife doesn't matter...
I don't believe you.

I can't wait to get my Busse custom "Black Lives Matter" chopper and watch everyone lose their got dam minds
